The fact that you posted this at 4:04

    AM
is awe inspiring. Were people there until the wee hours of the morn? If so, bless you.

@timf remember that many of our members are night owls (software engineers, PMs, security guards, etc)! I recall a second wind kicking in about 2am, but I may have just been imaginating hallucinating.

And some of us had to be up for work 4 hours later…

The term “committed” swings both ways when applied to a hobby. 😉

However, I’m not entirely certain how this group rolls. Any advice?

Well, typically, we climb to the top of a hill, curl into a ball, and just kind of lean until gravity kicks in…

Sorry. But seriously, you’re off to a good start! Chat on the forums, keep an eye out for upcoming events (there are a LOT in the next month or so – every weekend there’s something going on), come out to something and meet people, bring a MOC (My Own Creation) if you have one handy, and you’re off to the races! We’re pretty easygoing (just don’t use knockoff bricks!) and participation is when, where, and how you want to. Check out the Barnes & Noble Architecture event this Saturday, Youngstown Library event next Sat 10/24, Castle Shannon Fire Department display on 11/1, and Greenberg Toy & Train show on 11/7-8! Then we have a short break before Santa Trolley rounds out our fall/holiday season.

Oh, and for those not doing a B&N event (or before / after it), people will be meeting at Josh’s house for a LUG workday this Saturday as well.

Just so we’re clear: the LUGBulk is sorted. We’ll be doing other things this Saturday, like such as:

As for the 17th, I think I’ll still host time at my house if people are interested. You can do what you like with the Barnes and Noble event. If you’re leading, surely you get pab credits there. You also get pab credits for work days, so could be a nice day for earning.

We still need to finalize the track, hoping someone could take lead on getting some fabric to cover the sides perhaps. We painted it entirely black, but I think some white dotted lines would add some fun.

We should get/make a stencil and spray steel city lug on the backs of our chairs. Perhaps the track too.

We build a new pvc frame for hanging the banner that needs sprayed one more time.

We could build MILS train track on baseplates for greenberg and santa trolley. Any other building is possible too.

So, yeah, sorting lugbulk on the 17th then?

Yeah, @burikmodeldesign was asking today when that was happening…

yeah, I’m the one being a jag, Duncan. That should always be the assumption, if there is a jag blame that must be placed. When it is placed on me, it should be known that I’m doing it tongue in cheek too.

Not sure what you’re saying since you got the staff credits for Greenberg, just like everyone else did.

In context of of the Barnes and noble, you’re either leading/staffing a public event, or you’re part of the public attending the event.

A couple different sizes would be awesome. The backs of the chairs where the letters would fit is only about 1.5 inches high and about 18 inches wide.

I didn’t size it up, but I was thinking the one for the tables, which we still have. Would be too big.

I’m going to try to remind everyone verbally, but I’ll say it here. As we near lugbulk 2016, I want to make sure you’re aware of the participation requirement of staffing and/or display at an event. There are opportunities the next 3 weekends as well as into November and December. Let me know if you need clarification on this.

    What are we TALKING ABOUT?
    #akaThreadjacker!

Stones. Sets. Ins. Casual sexism. Ice Cream Cakes. Dinner. All of the things that are essential to a successful impromptu LUGBulk Sorting Party!

Matt, don’t apologize for who you are.

A big part of who I am (possibly even bigger than the wannabe comedian / sarcasm / snark machine) wants to be loved by everybody. These parts sometimes conflict…

LUG can pick up an ice cream cake…just sayin’. 5 or more members opens lug coffers #newrule #setinstone #zomgicecreamcake

    #setinstoneFTW

It’s okay Matt, that’s what I expect from you

    Um… thanks? #ImnotamisogynistbutIplayoneonTV

Also, if we come tonight to help sort, do we earn a 1/2 cup? =D

Sneaky sneaky. But somehow I feel like LUGBulk is excluded from the normal sorting rules… then again, you could help sort Josh’s Ping Pong Table of Doom and maybe get some under the table kickbacks from his personal coffers…

Come on over, Matt, Pete, Duncan, etc. I’ll try to print out the allotments in a useful manner for anyone to go to town.

My house is an open house all weekend. I’m working 4p-midnight tomorrow, but since I work from home, anyone is welcome at any point. It’s just me in the house all weekend.

I had plans for going through the storage locker stuff with some members, but haven’t set anytime. I’ll let anyone hash out a group decision on best time, but default is whenever you want.

UPS called me today to schedule the delivery for tomorrow.

I’m not opposed to people coming over this weekend to get started. If we want to keep the 17th, that’s fine too.

carting the large LUGBulk order around … might be a hassle.

Yes it would be risky to drag $4k of parts around. I guess we will need to do a preliminary sort with whomever is available. Btw, our original ship date is October 2.
