How did the May 18th Board Game Night go? Who came and what’d you guys play?
No LUG people were in attendance (other than me) but we had a great time. Played Incan Gold, Ticket to Ride, and Uno.
I’m offering to host another game day on Sunday, June 9. I know that is the day after our Q2 meeting so attendance may be slim (or non-existent) but anyone who wants to come can. I was thinking starting around 1:00 pm and going to about 5-6 pm ish.

However, if you’re looking to switch things up and have a group game, you might want to consider games like Scrabble or Monopoly. And solitaire is a great choice too, offering a relaxing solo experience that can be quite enjoyable.
Scrabble is not only fun but also a great way to expand your vocabulary and challenge your friends’ wordsmith skills. Monopoly, on the other hand, can be a thrilling rollercoaster of buying, trading, and wheeling and dealing to become the wealthiest player. It’s a classic game that never fails to bring out the competitive spirit in everyone. Another fantastic option for a group game night is Catan.
It’s a strategic board game that requires resource management and negotiation skills, making it a perfect choice for a fun and engaging evening. And if you’re in the mood for something more cooperative, try Pandemic, where players work together to stop global disease outbreaks.

I hate to do this but I must cancel Game Day this Sunday. I’ve had a conflict come up. I don’t think anyone here was coming but just in case, I wanted to let you know. Thank you.
June 20, 2024 at 6:26 pm #59449TimModeratorThis thread has been quiet for a few weeks now. Just checking to see if anything is happening over the next several weeks on the “board game front”. At present, I would be available next Saturday, June 29 and then again on Saturday, July 13 if either of those dates work for others.

Josh has done Catan in Lego. I presume it is still around somewhere. Many board games could be done in Lego, at least the boards and tokens (most cards would be near impossible with the amount of information needed to be included).

Wow, I know my reputation of “Matt never builds anything” but didn’t expect it to extend to the past…
LEGO Catan is still in my possession. We did not attempt to build the cards, but #hexagonsarethebestagons and other versions people have built fudged the true hexagonal shape so ours is better. 😉
I have been hoping to make a game night at some point, but it’s been challenging because baby. If I make it some time / if someone wants to borrow LEGO Catan, it’d be fun to dust it off (it’s been in a bin, shouldn’t actually be too dusty, lol) and play a round!

Whoops! Sorry about that, Matt.
