@argonvesher I haven’t been able to find any more than those few I mentioned. I definitely don’t have enough curve.
July 2, 2024 at 2:12 pm #59562Krista KModeratorSince we’ve yet to be invoiced for LUGBULK, I’ve decided to pivot a little on what I’m displaying. @bengood921 I should be at about the same size of table space and hopefully it’ll still be just as epic.
July 5, 2024 at 4:11 pm #59587Jonathan WagnerParticipantHowdy all! In my rush to do all things Hoth Battlefield, I’ve neglected one of the most important parts: Snowtroopers!
@tcsbgdady, we used yours in the past, might we make use of them again this time?
We should not need any bricks on them to designate whose they are as I have devised a way to keep them all separated.
@rcgrier3406 if we could again get your troops that would help out as well. I have a list from last year that you provided. Your smaller AT-AT will work great, I have a smaller one as well, we could easily do some far off oops scenes with them:
– AT-AT (about 14″ high).
– (2) Taun Taun’s with riders.
– (25) Rebel troopers and (5) Rebel officers all in Hoth gear.
– (4) Rebel pilots (to run around the hanger).
– (3) hanger maintenance guys.
– (6) 6×5 trans clear panels to elevate a Snow Speeder circling one of the AT-AT’s.Thanks all!
July 5, 2024 at 11:18 pm #59588Benjamin C GoodParticipantWill you need more than that? I have various Hoth minifigs, and one taun-taun, from various Hoth sets, but finding them in my house may be a tall order right now. Also, we just got to the beach, so it will be at least a week before I can look.
July 6, 2024 at 12:32 am #59589Jonathan WagnerParticipantNope, that will be plenty, that much filled things out nicely @bengood921 but thanks for checking!

Sure thing @argonvesher! I pulled the minifigs out this morning (they were still in the same bag they came home in from last year) and verified that all of the quantities you listed are still there!! We’ll just have to figure out how to get them to you before the end of the month. Maybe I can drop them with @knb112 or @timf if either of them have room.
July 6, 2024 at 9:25 am #59592Jonathan WagnerParticipant@rcgrier3406 either works or I can find a time over the next couple weekends to meet up with you and grab them. Thanks so much! Glad they were ready and waiting ^^
July 9, 2024 at 10:29 pm #59600Will McDineParticipantI don’t know if anyone else saw the email, but anyone who requested a room at the Holiday Inn through brickfair, you can now call the hotel and put your credit card info down to officially hold the room. I went through and officially did mine this afternoon. Do not call the number in the email though. You need to call the front desk. Number is (703)815-6060.

Thanks for this, this is not the first time that this has been a problem. I’d forgotten about it until you mentioned it though, I would’ve gone through it all again otherwise.
(It’s also a little disappointing that HI hasn’t fixed the problem, I remember the first time around it was very frustrating figuring out what to do because nobody knew anything and nobody would take my card number and I was afraid of losing the room.)

I definitely can fit figs, but probably don’t have room for much else this time, unfortunately.
July 11, 2024 at 8:01 pm #59617Jonathan WagnerParticipant@knb112 that’s ok, I can meet up sometime this weekend to grab them maybe.
@rcgrier3406 what would work for you? Text me: 724-601-9461
@tcsbgdady any chance we can use your snowtroopers again? If not, I’ll have to put a call out for snowtroopers from others which is fine, just coming down to a time crunch in a sense. @bengood921 might need to borrow yours whatever you have possibly.
BTW, the Echo Base is looking GOOD

I still don’t return to my house until tomorrow (late Friday). I’ll see what I can find when I get there. Even if I find them, it’s not gonna be large quantities.
July 11, 2024 at 10:07 pm #59622Benjamin C GoodParticipantThis map has been posted, it’s the best one I’ve seen so far, and unlike the others, you can really zoom in so far.
We’ll see how long the link is good for, Todd keeps making new maps and when he does, the old ones are no longer accessible.

@rcgrier3406 I can take them as well. Whatever is easiest for you. 🙂Also just FYI on my schedule. I will not be there until Friday around noon. Should be plenty of time to set up my part (and I have already discussed logistics with Jonathan). So hopefully we can do Otani on Friday night for dinner.
July 12, 2024 at 2:12 pm #59638Will McDineParticipantI bought the supplies today to make a small “Glow Zone” style area. If anyone has anything small they would like to put in, let me know. I can get dimensions of the space in the next few days if anyone is interested
July 13, 2024 at 11:08 pm #59646Jonathan WagnerParticipant@bengood921 I got all the minifigures I need, thanks for being ready to help!
Figures are set, Hoth is looking amazing.
Look on my IG @JonnyBuildz for updated pictures!
July 14, 2024 at 1:51 pm #59647Benjamin C GoodParticipantReminder about deadlines. You can read about them on your account tab at the BrickFair website. Hopefully everybody registered and paid already, because the deadline for the $35 late fee already passed.
There’s a bunch of deadlines for tomorrow, and I don’t know if that means midnight tonight, or midnight tomorrow. But it includes getting an engraved badge (the engravers will not make you a BrickFair brick if you ask them later) and getting a printed avatar tile.
The deadline for signing up for games is Tuesday.
July 15, 2024 at 2:15 pm #59654TimModeratorI was able to upload avatar images this afternoon so I believe it is still open until tonight.
July 17, 2024 at 8:38 am #59680Greg SchubertParticipantIs anyone interested in going to SEE (not display) Brickfair in Virgnia for a day on Aug 3/4? The discount on ticket presale ends on July 22.
@mitchsbricks did the Air BnB plan come to fruition?Attachments:

I was planning on bringing a smaller cooler for Alexis and I, mostly for the public days. I also have a much larger wheeled cooler that I could bring. Does anyone want me to bring the larger one? Just need to know before Saturday so I can plan on packing it.
July 23, 2024 at 9:37 am #59727Krista KModerator@willmcdine That’s a nice offer. We bring a small one too.
Related question. Is everyone on Discord and using it? If so, I can start a group for us. If not, we can do a text thread.
July 23, 2024 at 2:06 pm #59728Will McDineParticipantIs everyone on Discord and using it? If so, I can start a group for us. If not, we can do a text thread.
I personally haven’t used discord in several months. I can download it on my phone and use it if that is the best decided method of communication. Personally I am in favor of a group text message but I don’t care either way.
Also, what games are everyone participating in? Its weird, Alexis and I got into the same exact games and parts drafts. We are in all 3 rounds of the Putt Putt which I am completely stoked about. We also got put into the Moana boat and the Friends diner parts drafts… I don’t think we will be participating in them.
July 23, 2024 at 7:06 pm #59735Krista KModeratorWill and I only got one game a piece, but Zander’s in both rounds of the KFOL Go Fish. Do they still do walkups if there’s no shows?
I’m starting to think about what else we need to pack, @bengood921 should we bring table cloths? I can bring what I have, but I now have limited space in our car since I got sideswiped on I-79 and my car’s going to the shop while we’re in VA. I’ll just use them to wrap up my build if we need them. I can also bring some extra business cards too. @timf has all of the logo covers and Marcella is planning to pass off LUGDoug at Fayette. Anything else?
Text is fine since not everyone uses Discord regularly. Let me know if I’m missing anyone:

Okay, good, because between that Friday night when I got back to my house, and the next day when you made this post, I’d managed to forget all about it. I am the worst.
>> Is anyone interested in going to SEE (not display) Brickfair in Virgnia for a day on Aug 3/4? The discount on ticket presale ends on July 22.
Ooh, this sounds like we’ll once again (meaning it’s now an annual tradition) get to play Spot Greg. Last year it was played during all of Sunday public hours, since Greg was constantly on the move, to the point that Anne lost track of him multiple times.
>> I was planning on bringing a smaller cooler for Alexis and I
Thanks, I will also have my own with me, and I will be taking it to the hall, at the very least, on Saturday and Sunday.
>> Related question. Is everyone on Discord and using it? If so, I can start a group for us. If not, we can do a text thread.
I stopped using Discord a long time ago, and at any rate, I never installed it on my phone, which sounds miserable. I’m guessing this is for communicating during the event, like we did at Exton. If we do a text thread, I’m going to suggest that once it’s established, everybody send out a message saying “This is >my name<” so I can get everybody in my phone. At Exton, all I had was a bunch of numbers, so every time we received a message, we played this little game of Guess Who Sent That Text (a game, I should point out, is way less fun than Spot Greg), unless the person announced themselves, which got equally tiresome on both ends.
>> Its weird, Alexis and I got into the same exact games and parts drafts.
My only guess is that you got into the games for which significantly fewer people signed up, thus greatly increasing your chances of being accepted.
>> Do they still do walkups if there’s no shows?
I think it’s safe to assume that it’s yes; it’s always been that way. I’ve missed games I was signed up for in the past, as recently as last year, and they never had trouble filling my spot. At Fredericksburg, I was less than five minutes late, but they’d already given away my seat, and they didn’t let me play.
I didn’t sign up for any games this time. All the ones I like I’ve played plenty of times, and I’m fine with letting other people play them.
>> I’m starting to think about what else we need to pack, @bengood921 should we bring table cloths?
When I submitted the table request to Todd, back in June, I included a line that said “we are hoping that BrickFair can supply us with table cloths.” In his reply, Todd did not comment on that, and I have been assuming that we are getting some, although after last year, I am worried that somebody will overlook that and there won’t be any for us when we arrive, and tracking some down will be difficult. I suppose I could send a message to Todd and ask him. I still haven’t asked him for clarification on our section on the map either. If somebody else wants to go ahead and do it, feel free.
I did buy my orange table cloth, although I still plan to put it on top of a BrickFair black one. It’s a close match for bright light orange, although it’s slightly yellower (they did not have orange in the size I need, and at any rate I’m pretty sure the bright light orange is gonna look better with the lava anyway). I haven’t removed it from its packaging yet, but I plan to wash it and test it out on my banquet table before packing up next Monday, so I’ll take a photo.
>> @bengood921 I should be at about the same size of table space and hopefully it’ll still be just as epic.
Sounds good. Unlike with my usual builds, I will have a small amount of flexibility with the overall size. I’d also been holding out for LUGBulk to arrive, and now that it’s clear that it won’t arrive in time, I have put off assembling plan B until I have the table cleared off so that I can set them up for a test run. I’ll include that in my photo.
July 23, 2024 at 10:04 pm #59737Jonathan WagnerParticipantI’m good with text and yes please reply with your name once Krista sends it out.
Kristin and I will have a cooler also filled with snacks and goodies to avoid spending too much on their food.
@knb112 sorry to hear about your car, that sucks 🙁 -
