    @tbrown00 and I are doing a Lego event at Cranberry Library next Thursday, July 25 (see a bit earlier in this thread). I’m not aware of anything on the 24th. Anyone else is welcome to come as well on the 25th.

    It’s Thursday the 25th from 6-7:30. There isn’t a unique thread for this, Tim F had posted about it on this thread before summer started. The more folks the merrier. Maybe bring some example MOCs to show off if you come but this is a low pressure event so no expectations other than to show up and play with Lego.

    Sounds good! This would definitely be a good one to submit.

    It is getting on towards the end of summer now and we need to decide on when to take down the summer reading display. Options are Saturday, August 24, Saturday, August 31 (which looks like it may be the Q3 LUG Meeting/Birthday party), or Saturday, September 7. The Library is always very flexible with our take down date, so whatever we decide should be fine with them. Let me know here what date you prefer. Thank you.

    I go back to school soon and it will be hard to get to cranberry because Saturdays I have a class at 9 too. I have a small item in our display. Can I get it before I go back to school? I can slide my small piece out if that’s ok and spread the small blue pieces to cover where it is now. It’s the small castle and small red dragon.

    Only definite no is Q3 (Aug 31st). Outside of that I’ll aim to come by to help. In a pinch I can grab my dragon out a little early if you do go for the 31st.

    @jrosie absolutely. Just let me know when you plan to go and I will let Melissa (the Children’s Librarian) know so she can have the key ready for you.

    @tbrown00
    the build event starts at 6:00 pm tonight at the Library. We do not need to take anything but I will likely bring a few small MOCs. I’m sure the kids would love to see some of your animal creations (snake, etc.). Anyone else is most welcome to attend as well.

    Heh Melissa would be quite upset if I didn’t bring the Iguana. The snake will indeed also be making an appearance. They are hoping the township cancels their meeting so we get the Franklin Room but most likely it will be Lego in the story time room and/or at the tables as you just walk into the children’s room. Apparently there’s been quite the excitement about this event. Lots of kids and lots of Lego. Hopefully it will be a lot of fun for everyone.

    August 24th or September 7th should work for me.

    @knb112 the reporting information from the Library’s Build Event last evening are approx. 65 total attendees of which 40 were kids. @tbrown00 did you receive any different information?

    Nope. That sounds about right. Fun little event.

    Thanks @timf and @tbrown00! I wanted to make it up for it, but it just didn’t work out this time. Sounds like great attendance!

    @jrosie were you able to get your build out AOK?

    Tim, thanks for asking. Yes, I got my build and setup the blue pieces so that it didn’t look odd that my build was removed. The librarians were really nice and said everyone loved the display this summer. Thanks for organizing it!

    I was in Cranberry yesterday, and I spoke with the children’s section librarian who said that it was okay to dismantle our display because the “summer reading program is over.” So, I removed the yellow castle.

    In speaking with the other librarians about the renovations, I learned that there is going to be an additional door facing Rochester Road that will lead to a garden. There will no longer be parking in front of the building, its being made into green space.

    Btw, a librarian pointed out to me that there is an outside door in the children’s library section that would allow much shorter trips for moving display materials. When I was finally loaded and leaving, I saw that the side door is indeed a whole lot closer to parking spaces.

    Yes, front parking lot is gone. There is a new small parking lot on the side of the building closest to 19 but it’s being used for the construction stuff at the moment and isn’t very viable for library installs…but maybe for First Stop Cranberry when/if they have us back. I’ve never used the door that’s inside the Children’s room because I think they have to disable the alarm. However I have started using the door that goes to the current outside reading area that’s next to the South Franklin room. Given that your castle is out. I’ll probably just go snag my Dragon soon but if/when folks need help getting their stuff out just hit me up and I’ll see if I can come down.

    It’s short notice but based on Greg’s post above, do we want to remove the Library Display tomorrow morning? I’m available. I think only myself, @tbrown00, @tcsbgdady, and @randomdan have items left in the case (Jade and Greg have now removed their builds).

    Tomorrow morning works for me. Shooting for around 9:30/10am?

    I have a 5k in the morning so I can’t make it if it’s done in the morning. However I pulled my build out tonight so no worries.

    @randomdan yes the Library opens at 10:00 am tomorrow. So that is when I am going. I’ll see you then.

    @tcsbgdady
    if you’re available. Otherwise, we’ll leave your builds there (including the small castle groups that got put in behind my Ruins MOC).

    @timf, just seeing this. I also have stuff in the display (Troll Cave, Bunch of Knights, Ballista, Catapult, (3) dragons, and the LUG sign on the wall). Unfortunately, I’m a bit under the weather this morning, so I can’t make it over there today.

    If you want to grab may stuff and bring it to Q3, that would be great. Otherwise just leave it in the display case and I’ll get over there in the next few days when I’m feeling better. Thanks!

    @rcgrier3406 @tcsbgdady everything is out except your MOCs. Jim, I left the entire bin of trans blue studs. I told the Librarian the you guys would finish sometime this coming week. Thank you.
