Hi All,
I saw the display in the Cranberry library and wanted to join the group. I mostly collect all the modular buildings and City collection, but the Helicarrier definitely made it on my wishlist.
June 26, 2015 at 10:12 pm #12184TimModeratorWelcome, Lisa. There are several of us in Cranberry so always good to find another Northsider. Our next event in Cranberry is during Cranberry Days. We’re teaming up with the Library to do a free build during the entire festival. Hope to see you there.
BTW, I like your avatar; that’s the dragon outside of the Lego Store at Downtown Disney in Orlando, yes?

If you’re curious about what into planning that display, the thread is here:

The next quarterly meeting probably isn’t til mid-August, but there’s a lot of other things going on in the next 6 weeks or so.

Tim, I could not find a thread about Cranberry Days for 2015 but I know that you said, “I’m ordering a few hundred 6×6 plates and people can build whatever they want on them. We’ll put them on a table all together and have a whole “community” by the end.”
What do you think about creating the buildings at this event? We could have the general public help or just LUG members … I for one cannot just sit there and watch other people build. On that note, would it be possible to make a LEGO building that is 10 or 12 feet high without the possibility of having it fall over … without welding a steel beam to the stage and threading it up the middle of the building?
June 27, 2015 at 10:34 pm #12200TimModeratorI am planning on creating a few buildings in advance (and some mini-roads) and then having the public build whatever else they want. LUG members staffing the event can also free build, help the public build, observe, whatever. I did order and now have about 250 6×6 plates to be used.
I don’t think anyone will built a 10-12 foot building at this event. Or were you referring to he theater event in November?
June 28, 2015 at 5:56 am #12202Greg SchubertParticipantwere you referring to he theater event in November?
Yes, I am proposing that we could make huge buildings for the November show during these days. Maybe they would be multicolor, the way most kids would make them, not monochrome.

Duncan doodle for the Greenberg Train Show covers July 11-12. Tim, will you need help with the Cranberry event also?

Additional staffing is always appreciated. I will be there most of the time (if not all) and the Library staff will be there the entire time. So if anyone can come out to help, that would be great. I need to confirm the exact times and then I will create a Doodle for shift sign-ups for anyone interested. Thanks!
July 1, 2015 at 8:23 pm #12241JoshKeymasterGreg the thread jacker strikes again! He’s a tricksy one!
Hi Lisa! Welcome! When you move to the south hills, we can be friends! 😛
