Yesterday, these two storage cases were advertised on craigslist for $30 each and “someone was coming tonight to buy them.” Today they are $125 each. That rate of inflation is so high my calculator had to use scientific notation to display it.

Looks like last March was the time to buy these (at $50 each on Amazon). Now, not so much…
However, you can still get basically the same thing (sans baseplate and LEGO logo) for $65. And thanks to the LUGBULK thread, we all know that a green 32 baseplate is not worth $60.

I don’t think this guy understands basic economics… if it doesn’t sell at $125, you don’t raise the price…
February 2, 2015 at 7:23 pm #10322Greg SchubertParticipant@randomdan monorail track?
well, it seemed like a good deal, if you assume $15 for each chunk of track … then I saw the shipping

February 13, 2015 at 11:45 am #10382Greg SchubertParticipantDoes Dan Brown already have one of these in his Bellaire Museum?
February 13, 2015 at 12:06 pm #10389JoshKeymaster@dacvak or anyone with money to spend or going to Florida any time soon. This should be a pretty good deal:

If you ever wanted to jump start a bricklink store or a collection, this would be a good way.

“’Logic!’ said the Professor half to himself. ‘Why don’t they teach logic at these schools?'” Also, reading comprehension. 😉

…or at least the ones to which your friends send you links.
Wubs you, Greg!

I need to buy two of those light gray raised train platforms,

and there is at least one in the photo.
February 22, 2015 at 9:30 pm #10480Greg SchubertParticipantIf you can’t drive to Orlando, maybe you can drive to Youngstown!
This person does not sound like a collector and if someone is willing to do the research, it would be plausible to make an offer which is a lot lower.
February 22, 2015 at 10:35 pm #10482Matt RedfieldKeymasterYeesh. Yea, I’d say there might be a bargain to be had, if one put in the time to research and negotiate… but that someone is not me.

Your concepts of ownership are… uncommon…
March 19, 2015 at 9:21 am #10737David H DonleyParticipantFurther proof everyone but me owns that stupid thing. On a side note, the new Pirate Ship is pretty awesome. I was pleasantly surprised by the size. My son absolutely loves it.
March 20, 2015 at 11:29 pm #10744AliceParticipantWalmart online has lego creative building box (10695) for $20. That’s 580 pieces. They ship free if your order is over $50.

It looks like that was too good to last. How did you find out about it?
March 21, 2015 at 7:21 am #10748Greg SchubertParticipantI spotted this piece of artwork on Amazon, (looking for the Easter set that I failed to but before the SOLD OUT.) Unfortunately, not one of these guys has the multicolor astronaut printed on his torso. Rats.

I regularly search for deals since I’m trying to build up my brick collection (just came out of dark ages in October 2014). Lego shop at home had it listed for $40, so I knew this was a good deal. Too bad it sold out.

Forgot to mention I also read brickset’s shopping guide, lego s@h sales, brickpicker, slickdeals, Craigslist, eurobricks, etc etc. I happened to have found this deal on my own though. 🙂
