Nice find; Greg. POV is $7.79, so if you get them for $2.50 it’s a steal for sure! (whether you’re trying to resell or just snag some nice green, dark green, purple, and yellow parts…) And wow, if they go to $1.25… I mean at that point you’re paying $0.02 / brick.

In other news, Amazon has a lot of good prices for Lone Ranger and LOTR sets (good sets for personal use or selling!) I may have mentioned it before but Toys N Bricks is a great source for deal tips:

I stopped at East Liberty Target last night, and didn’t find the polybags, except for one little 30243 Star Wars that cost me something like $1.26, including tax. Did also find a single Series 11 Gingerbread Man (already had him, but figured we can’t have too many for Greenberg…) as well – full price, though.

In other news, you railheads might like this deal: Amazon UK has 7943 Passenger Train for what works out to $101. Considering it has track and power functions, I figured it’s well worth it, and POV is $207 as well.

Amazon has all kinds of deals on LOTR, Castle, Chima, Friends, etc. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, go take a look. If your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/uncle/third cousin twice removed will yell at you for spending all your dollars on LEGO, you didn’t get these tips from me.

Amazon has all kinds of deals

I looked at the cargo train price and its 77.17 EU including shipping. My desktop calculator, which was updated five minutes ago, converts 77.17 Euros to $104 USD, however the checkout at Amazon say that 77.17 Euros is $124. I don’t get it.

Hard to say; but I think if you keep clicking through like you’re going to purchase, savings magically appear right at the end before the final commitment click… something about no taxes if you live in the States and order on UK…?

    Big ol’ Amazon clearance sale:

The Second Massive November 2013 LEGO Sale at Amazon USA

Lots of good ‘uns in there, but Mirkwood Spiders (read: dark red foliage, squee!) is $20 instead of the normal $30… BUY ALL THE THINGS!

Also potentially of interest is this Toys’R’Us online only deal, where you buy a UCS Star Wars set and get a Palpatine’s Arrest set free (it’s a $90 set, $110 at TRU). Downside is they appear to have already sold out of the (relatively) cheap R2D2 and X-Wing sets, so you’d have to buy a Death Star or Star Destroyer (both $400) to get the deal…

for all you black friday shoppers:
    http://bfads.net/

2 years ago, I bought ~$600 worth of those lego buckets from walmart and resold most of them for $1000 through craigslist and ebay. paid for the 3 I kept.

here’s the only deal i really see so far this year – http://bfads.net/Item/eBay-Black-Friday-Target-100-Gift-Card/170724

Historically, LEGO has had a 10% discount online at their Shop @ Home website on the Black Friday weekend.

ALSO, if you go to a brick & motor LEGO Store, they give you a card when you checkout and it has at least a 10% off and maybe more … it could be as much as 50% off!

Anyone can get these deals, you don’t need a VIP card etc., just a method of payment.

LEGO Holdiay 2013 Sales (Further Reduced)

Amazon has some legit sales right now. And, if you spend $75, you get a free teddy bear… if you’re into that sort of thing. And why wouldn’t you be? It’s free!

I would LIKE to get the constitution train, but I am still sitting on several Toy Story trains. Decisions, decisions.

Spend $50 on stanley cases, and get $10 off.

If anyone is in the market for as many storage containers as I am, please note this deal is repeatable. I.E. – place an order for just over $50 worth, save $10. Then, go place another order for just over $50 worth, save $10 again. Depending on which case you choose, you can get 4, or 7, or mix and match (there’s also a deeper version of the removeable tray case). And it’s good for other Stanley tools, too, if you need some screwdrivers or hole saws or whatever.

One of the best online deals I’ve seen are gray 48×48 baseplates for $11 at walmart.com

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Bricks-and-More-Bulding-Plate-48×48-Studs/17206401

Also this is the first time I’ve seen the Elrond set price reduced

Also this is the first time I’ve seen the Elrond set price reduced

I prob should have mentioned it on here, but it’s been $26 on Amazon for a week or so:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9X59RA/ref=ox_ya_os_product

And, even better, Mirkwood Spiders is $20:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009TCYJT8/ref=ox_ya_os_product

Great sets for foliage, among other things.

Also, it looks like TRU still has the Free Palpatine’s Arrest with purchase of expensive Star Wars sets deal, and they have the X-Wing back in stock (I.E. – spend $200, get a ~ $100 set free):

    Whaaaaaa?

This person is trying to sell the Council of Elrond set (MSRP $30, currently available for $26 on Walmart and Amazon) for $120. I just… don’t… understand…

Oh, and that price doesn’t include $38 shipping…

Oh, Greg, did you see that you can get those baseplates / a selection of other sets in the 2 for $29 deal on Walmart.com?

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-2-for-29-Value-Bundle/31031383

You pair a $20-30ish set with a $10ish set (or baseplate) and get both for $29. So, not too shabby of a deal.

(I swear I’m not just shopping online for LEGO all day – it’s just in between family hangouts / farewells / etc.)

“See, here I’m now sitting by myself, uh, er, talking to myself. That’s, that’s chaos theory.”

Anyway, if you’re morally ok with shopping at Walmart, they (West Mifflin store) have some deep discounts on Galaxy Quest, if you’re into that sort of thing.

And, ToysRUs (Robinson), in addition to the BOGO 50% off deal, has 70010 Lion Chi Temple for $75 (MSRP $120, POV $238). Good thru Saturday.

I didn’t buy any of this stuff yet (trying this new thing called “self-control”), but they’re definitely decent deals if you have use for the type of parts found in CHIMA or GQ.

I still haven’t found any of the 30216 Lake Town Guard Polybag, but TRU had them online yesterday (sold out in a jif, though).

Restraint is relative. I’ll ‘splain … No, there is too much, I’ll sum up. I cannot remember regretting buying anything LEGO on sale but have regretted returns I made.

What I did NOT buy this Black Friday weekend, but could have:
    – 1 half price LEGO city set at TRU
    – 8 boxes of 600 piece brick buckets at Wal*Mart @$15
    – > 100 unchecked series 11 CMF’s
    – constitution train
    – 5 LEGO friends pool sets, $26 ea.
    – 4 Council of Elrond sets, $26 ea.

And as I am constructing this list, I see that Amazon prices for stuff in my cart has fallen even farther! Ok, never mind, gotta go!

Matt, since you like POV’s, you can buy up to four $75 sets, (normally $120,) with a POV of $239 at TRU. The set comes with 7 minifigs and a ton of unusual parts.

    http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=19249576

Same set is $84 at Target online, plus you get $20 back on a $100 sale online, today only.

This looks like a good investment, even if you don’t part it out … as long as you have storage room.

The Wal*Mart near me suddenly has a dozen Mirkwood Spider sets for $21. Could this have happened after they dipped to $16.99 a week ago?

This practice of discounting LEGO sets BEFORE Christmas is new to me. It seemed like one had to wait until after December 25th to hit the sales. Maybe its just a result of sets being initially overpriced.

Have you noticed it’s just the two of us in here, Greg?

There have been TONS of sales lately – maybe people are desperate to get in the black? (Black Friday not being enough, apparently…?)

But yea, at this point $21 is still an ok price for that set, but I’ve definitely seen it cheaper. Still love the dark red foliage, but I’ve got several of them already…
