Hello:
My name is Michael Lutz and I met a few of you at Maker Faire last weekend (I had on the Lego T-shirt).
I’m 44 and have been collecting and building and sorting all of my life, I moved back to Pittsburgh from New York about 8 years ago and having a large house has enabled me to expand my collection.I’ve always been into City/Town/Train set ups – anything mini-fig scale. I collect the larger modular city sets, creator sets, i have some “Friends” sets, Simpsons, Ghostbusters, Racers, Christmas, etc… when I have time for it i do enjoy making some MOCs – and I dream of owning the City Monorail set. haha
I’ve been interested in incorporating more technique, motors and lights into my sets. I’m pretty busy in general with work and other obligations, but i’d love to get involved when possible.
Please keep me updated on any upcoming gatherings or events.
Thanks, Michael

Welcome, Michael. Keeping an eye on these Forums is the best way to stay up to date on what is going on. Upcoming events include: Castle Shannon VFD display (http://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/castle-shannon-vfd-train-show-2016/); Greenberg’s Train Show in Monroeville (http://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/greenburg-monroeville-nov-12-13-2016/); and Santa Trolley at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum (http://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/santa-trolley-2016-pa-trolley-museum/). These are all public displays and all MOCs are welcome. Each event may have a general theme which we try to build around but we have never had trouble fitting in MOCs which don’t follow the general theme.
Also, we have quarterly LUG meetings and the fourth quarter meeting is coming up (http://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/2016-q4-scheduling/) at which there will be fun fellowship and Lego. Hope to meet you soon. 🙂

I’m a big monorail fan myself.

And what Tim said as far as upcoming stuff – 97% of LUG planning happens right here on the forums, and most of the next few months’ plans are in the threads he linked to.
