ParticipantI was interested in this one …
“10235 – Winter Village Market/Fair”
“Missing: Orange jacked minifig … ”until I noticed that the jacked minifig was gone. I really wanted to see the jacked minifig. 🙁

ModeratorI’m assuming the listed asking price ($1,234,567) is some kind of Facebook Marketplace shorthand? What does it mean? I cannot imagine someone is actually asking almost $1.25 million for a Lego Collection (unless it is coming straight from the secure vault in Denmark).
January 27, 2022 at 5:55 pm #42556Greg Schubert
ParticipantFacebook “prices” are often not real prices. Sometimes it says $0 and it means make an offer. Sometimes it says $1 and it can be almost any price. A price like $123… is a convenient string of numbers that have no basis in reality. 😛 That’s my $0.02.

KeymasterSort by cheapest price and buy the cheapest one >>> list at a lower price than I want so I get a lot of views.
Hate that on eBay/Craigslist/etc.
Even on BrickLink, if you look at a set, you’ll see a lot of cheap ones listed as “PARTIAL NO MINIFIGS” and whatnot. Which means a $50 MSRP set with, say, hobbits and dwarves and orcs and wargs, now has $15 worth of random parts easily obtained elsewhere.
Similarly, I think 1234567, in addition to being the kind of thing an idiot would have on his luggage, is just to grab attention.

An idiot has “1,2,3,4,5” on his luggage. Adding “6 and 7” would be far beyond his capacity. “All hail Skroob!

ParticipantI am looking at craigslist ads in eastern PA. What is that expression about when something seems too good to be true?

ParticipantSomeone near me posted yesterday on facebook marketplace that they have 10 pounds binds of random LEGO parts for $50, eight of them. I do not know the person, but if anyone is interested, I can get them for you.
In my mind, it takes about an hour to sort a pound of LEGO parts, so this would be a solid two weeks of entertainment for someone who enjoys sorting!

I can’t make it up today but anyone in Cranberry want to do a drive by?

ParticipantApparently it is one of the common VBS themes this summer so there may be more chances to snag the decorations afterwards if one is so inclined.

ModeratorI saw a close up of them. Not hard to recreate. I have plenty of cardboard boxes. 😂

ParticipantI think these boxes would create something on the scale that the mall is looking for.
They occupy a significant volume which is good for display but not for storing them.If the boxes are only going to be used for a short time and then discarded, getting them already made seems to make a lot of sense. Unfortunately finding a local Vacation Bible School with this theme does not lend itself to internet searches.
Is it possible that as a LUG we have enough of the large plastic storage bricks that we could use them for a display. I probably have four or five of those myself.
July 25, 2022 at 11:36 am #45773Krista K
Moderator@greg Good call on the plastic storage bins! I may have some, I just need to find them. 😂

ParticipantMy first contribution to Craigslist ever:
https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/tag/d/pittsburgh-lego-diagon-alley-harry/7521486309.htmlLet me know if anyone here is interested in this! I would rather not go through the hassle of eBay. Could maybe let it go for -$15 more if you’re a LUG member.

Participanthttps://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/clt/d/south-park-lego-star-wars/7539545985.html
I inquired about this listing. They want 1300 hundred for everything. Probably a good deal if you want star wars.

ParticipantNot exactly craigslist, but similar .. this guy in Sewickley 3D printed a giant skeleton. (see attached image)
Which reminds me, someone had a brick-built large scale LEGO skeleton minifig at the Brickfest in Exton PA and I thought it was an idea worth replicating.

ParticipantSmall 9v track loop, x crossing and transformer for $25. In New Kensington.

ParticipantInteresting find, seems like a good deal. Note that the lead wires that go from the transformer to the track are covered with electrical tape. Someone interested in purchasing this should probably take a train motor to see if the track actually receives power through these wires.
