ParticipantFlickr link broken, Greg… :/
IDK, it works for me; its a head-on view of the two gingerbread people. The embedded image on the site is probably better for seeing the details of how they were built.

Weird. I tried going to TBB’s page and searching for gingerbread, but couldn’t find it that way, either.

ParticipantPretty sure VP Biden broke them up and laid the pieces out on the floor surrounding the president’s bed on Jan 21st so President Trump would step on them.

ModeratorI saw that on an HGTV special around Christmas. Pretty neat, except that they only showed a few of the houses up close. So it was hard to glean any real details. Supposedly, each house was different and had detailing based upon each state.

ModeratorYeah, here’s the gist of it-
1. Lego did it officially in the 70s. (Josh was wrong)
2. For whatever reason, lego stopped doing it 3. until very recently.
3. We all have done it since the 70s anyway.
Unless we got LEGO to make an official comment (maybe one already exists…). It’s all moot. It was and is.LEGO has apparently made an official comment, not in any written or verbal statement, but in the design of the new Saturn V rocket set. The American Flag which goes with the Lunar Lander portion of the set is a printed 1×2 clear tile which is WEDGED between two studs – see picture here: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2017/04/28/lego-unveils-largest-ideas-set-yet-21309-nasa-apollo-saturn-v-news/#more-90266. So this type of connection is back (at least for this one set). :-p

ParticipantI will be temporarily suspending one tree project to tackle another one that was created by high winds today. The top branches of this giant oak just grazed the trampoline where a neighbor kid was jumping. For those of you who didn’t know, a high wind warning is not a cue to send your kids to play outside in a wooded neighborhood.

ParticipantThis 6 AM perspective shows the decapitated spruce and the maple that was wiped out by the oak.

ParticipantWOW, close call Greg. You’re lucky it fell where it did and not on the house, or the neighbor kid!!

ParticipantThese would be awesome if they were were about 30 inches taller.

ParticipantWhy is it that I can get a shirt printed with this copyrighted logo from a seller in France, but no where else?
May 10, 2017 at 3:26 pm #21507Zach Bauer
ParticipantNo clue but if you’d like to cut your shipping costs in half, I’d take you up on that 🙂

ParticipantI found four castles from the Angry Birds series that were half price at ? TARGET. I am willing to part with them at cost.

Also, the Steel City Bricks bricklink store has three more of these sets.

Hadn’t. Missed the post; obv. missed the event. But that’s cool.
The one on Ben’s shirt is better, but not officially made by TLG; I’d imagine some of the custom printers could replicate. At any rate, methinks I shall eat all the bacon and eggs I have for breakfast on the morrow.

ParticipantI’m in Chicago and I’m actually having a hard time deciding what to wear today. Should I wear my Pittsburgh Penguins 2016 Stanley Cup Champions tshirt? Or should I wear my Pittsburgh Penguins 2017 Stanley Cup Champions tshirt? Such a tough decision. I still haven’t obtained a 5x Champions or a 16-17 back-to-back Champions shirt yet, so that at least simplifies things a bit, but still. I’ll have to think about it some more.

ParticipantBonus story: I wore the 2017 one (for the first time ever) and it took as far as the hotel elevator to get a compliment on it – Motorola is having some kind of convention here this week as well, and the only person in the elevator with me is here for that one, and he lives in the South Hills. Go figure.

ParticipantOver in the trolley thread, Ben posted a town image by “smart as a brick” in the NY/CT area. Another display that he posted is this UV moonbase layout.
The Main Author’s name is Will Smart. He’s a member of the NY LUG. His stuff is very impressive to even someone like me who couldn’t care less about space scenes.
Here are some images from our most recent miniature display.
