They NAILED this video, everything about it! Bob, this is what we are going for. Maybe we can bring it to Brickfair VA next summer.

Personally, I think it would be fun to try to build 123 Sesame Street WITHOUT the kit / instructions. My younger siblings had the Fisher Price version of this building which included the Hooper’s Store building too. https://goo.gl/images/AbzTkC

I’ve also never been anywhere that draws so many trick-or-treaters, and we ran out with 90 minutes (official trick-or-treating hours there went 3:30 to 7:30) to go despite buying what I thought was way more than we would need and so I had to sit under the sign like a giant loser (I had it taped across the door) and shoo away kids while Rachel ran out to buy more.

November 8, 2018 at 10:19 pm #29466Benjamin C GoodParticipantHahaha, no, sorry. I washed it out before bed that night so I wouldn’t turn the sheets blue. My shampoo usually suds up at an off-white color, but this time it looked like I’d killed a Smurf with my bare hands.
Incidentally (in case anybody’s considering buying one for future use if they’re still availalbe) my costume was remarkably comfortable, easy to move about in, easy to get off and on, not a problem in the bathroom, and easy to store afterwards. None of that applies to the homemade Lego costume I made in 2006 using a cardboard box and red plastic drinking cups.

Yeah, the one I made for Jonah last year was rather rigid as well

That is awesome! I always wanted a racing drone!
November 16, 2018 at 10:01 am #29574David BaconParticipantThe captions on this Lego-fied meme nailed it for me. Sooo funny!!!
November 16, 2018 at 10:45 am #29575Matt RedfieldKeymasterThat’s Iain Heath, aka Ochre.Jelly. He’s hilarious. LUGDoug got a selfie with him at Skaerbaek Fan Weekend 2017…

… for no particular reason, although GBC /
technic builders might be interested in some
of the results.November 22, 2018 at 1:12 am #29619Sean CollinsParticipantso idk were to ask this but should I invest in 19 pieces of monorail short track? its going to cost me upwards of 100 bucks. i want to build my space display and go lego monorail but some of this 3d printed stuff looks so much cheaper.
i could also do the same effect im looking for with 3 long and 3 short pieces of track since i have 1 long that i can find. but doing that makes the build harder to transport.
November 22, 2018 at 11:15 am #29622Matt RedfieldKeymasterI haven’t kept up on monorail component pricing in the past year or two. Not sure if @randomdan has, either. But I wanna say a few years ago, short (~3″ long) straight tracks were costing at least $10, maybe $15 each. So “upwards of $100” is a bit vague, but you didn’t say “almost $200”, so it seems like the market is down since 2014~2016 when I was buying monorail…
I dunno that I have 19 pcs of short, but I def have some track that isn’t currently getting used, so if you want to borrow (or maybe buy? Not sure if I’m ready to part with it forever) we could talk about that…
Going non-purist (buying 3D printed) is between you and the LEGO gods. May they have mercy on your soul. (Wait, “but some of this 3D printed stuff looks so much cheaper” meaning “it looks like you can get 3D printed track more cheaply than you can get official LEGO track”, or meaning “the 3D printed track looks bad, so I’m torn between frugality and quality”…?)
November 22, 2018 at 12:49 pm #29624PeteParticipantCheck with Walter on the 3D printed track. I believe he has some.

December 20, 2018 at 10:34 pm #29798Benjamin C GoodParticipant>> Ben, do you think these would fall apart easily?
Ha, why yes, yes I do. But I think a more important question would be, if I had built them in my basement, would I be able to easily get them out for a display somewhere else?
I was impressed by the price on these until I realized you’re not getting all three trees, or even any trees, just the instructions.
December 20, 2018 at 10:45 pm #29799JoshKeymasterhahahahaha +1 Ben.

Nothing else yet, except some rumors that it might be in the Asian exclusive Dragon Dance set. Here is a New Elementary article on the new color.
