I’ve met Iain, but wouldn’t call him a friend… Watch him walk around at BW with a yellow spandex suit and minifigure head mask tho…October 14, 2020 at 10:56 pm #37291Matt RedfieldKeymasterYeah….

The most noteworthy thing on the cover is a parrot riding a panda riding an elephant. As far as I can tell, this is not a real set or an upcoming release. Which is disappointing, cause I would totally buy that one.

Samesies. I, too, was lured in by that, only to find almost solely licensed/fandom sets and expensive sets for older folks.

On the one hand, Greg, I respect your fancy way of saying #pixoritdidnthappen, and I fully support your skepticism when it comes to Mr. Goode’s oft-outlandish, unsubstantiated by photo-documentation, claims.
On the other hand, I am saddened that my corroboration of Mr. Goode’s tale, in this case, didn’t serve as evidence for you. Is my word worth so little…?
November 21, 2020 at 11:53 am #37529Greg SchubertParticipant@philmatt24 you got the reference to a movie that happened before you were born but not a reference to current events?
Regardless, this is “threadjacking”, and since I have been know the have expertise in this area, I just gotta wine that the ONE SET I wanted to buy on VIP weekend was in stock for less than two hours when it went out of stock again. Not backordered mind you, out of stock.

Wait what movie/reference did I get? I can’t remember now.
And I’m guessing some politician said

…?
Sorry your set’s out of stock tho…

‘Twas the elf clubhouse. (Could you guess?) However it went back in stock for a fleeting time in the middle of the night when I just happened to be awake!!! I placed an order and a few hours later I got a notification that it would arrive within 60 days. 😀 Production must be really backed up.
November 23, 2020 at 2:45 pm #37547Matt RedfieldKeymasterOh right, well… it’s A New Hope. Not Citizen Kane or something…
November 24, 2020 at 5:23 pm #37551TimModeratorMr. Goode
Oh no, did I inadvertently start something here? @bengood921 please forgive me!

The LEGO equivalent of a turducken, just in time for the holidays.

LOL, sure Greg, if you’re buying!
December 5, 2020 at 2:22 pm #37755Greg SchubertParticipantOh man, how do I get one of these fox suits? Maybe I would have to work at LEGOLAND to wear one.

You could always make one yourself!

December 5, 2020 at 3:08 pm #37759Greg SchubertParticipantWell done on the spaceman costume, paper maché is fun to do.
I used that technique to make a wasp nest piñata for my wife’s 50th … she was Queen Bee for a day!

I agree with Mr. Redfielde that our word alone should be good enough, but really, I had assumed – and yes, I know all the sayings about assuming – that as a LUG member you would be receiving said catalog in the mail from Lego, and therefore had either seen it or could go easily find it. As far as outrageous claims with no pics go, I think you’re confusing me with Rich.
>> Oh no, did I inadvertently start something here? @bengood921 please forgive me!
Hmm, I’ll let it slide. But I do have to ask about what’s going on in this pic. It’s from Cale’s Flickr stream (I can’t directly cause this site is weird), and it’s from Lego Kidsfest 2012 at the Lawrence. (Which I was at, but at which I failed to notice the existence of the LUG.) I figure there’s two possibilities here: 1) Tim is demonstrating to Doug how he made his buzzer-beating shot that won his team the basketball championship 2) Tim just got hired as an actor at a local Halloween attraction, and is demonstrating to Doug how he’s gonna play the role of the monster that jumps out and scares people. Either way it’s a keeper.

December 10, 2020 at 8:42 am #37831TimModeratorAll three at once! That goes all the way back to our LUG’s very first display at Kidsfest.
I never did make a winning shot in basketball. However (and since this is Threadjacking), I will add this shameless personal brag. Tuesday (December 8) was the 30 year anniversary of the Allegheny College Division III National Championship in football – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1990_NCAA_Division_III_football_season.
