Ah, ok. I was thinking there was a clue in the picture itself.

I should have called this thread Schubert’s Unfinished to show all the pending projects. Seeing Renee’s mega-squirrel progress reminded of a dragon project that I started pre-LUG, maybe 15 years ago. It’s still in a box … somewhere.

I don’t know what’s going on in this pic, but I bet Greg can tell us:

Yeah, unfortunately that happens a lot. Santa gets really angry when he catches elves playing in the present portal during the off-season. These mishaps can be very costly and insurance does not cover multi-dimensional disasters.

Earlier this Spring I built a gingerbread version of the Christmas Story house (exterior only). Today I finished a mirror image version of that house with sand green tiles.

For years, I have been mulling this idea of incorporating parts of the Department 56 “LEGO Building Creation Station” into a MOC. I cobbled something together and then sent a photo to my architect sibling, something I have never attempted before. From the feedback I received, it became apparent that a person who designs for the real world does not incorporate so many styles and colors into a single structure.

Soooooo, I may have eventually split this MOC into three separate ideas, but here is version 1 of the North Pole LEGO Factory.

That’s right, we wouldn’t want our elf-run factory at the North Pole to be architecturally unrealistic. However, I have to agree, I think it would work better split in three, since all three sections look good and could be expanded to complete builds. The dark green section looks like it already could stand alone as a complete building.

I do like your containers on the top of the middle section, and the matching stack of steering wheels inside. (I don’t know if bothers anybody else though that the steering wheels are not in the same color order as the containers.)

This is a 3 for 1 post, referencing the attached photo. First I detached the dark green house from the other two building section (as suggested by Ben and Jerry) in time for the teen build challenge night.

Secondly I inventoried my aunt’s 1300+ piece technic bulldozer set and spent considerable time cleaning the contacts of the remote controller and battery cartridge. The electronics work now, but DON’T leave batteries in devices!

Third, I wanted a Jurassic Park Jeep for the CARVANA tower, so I bought the flipped over Ford Explorer from the T rex Breakout set. I used what I had to complete it and it looks good, but I need to buy a “Lime Wedge 4 x 6 x 2/3 Triple Curved” from @joshhall. 🙂

You should give us a photo of the green building on its own so we can get a good look at it.

I don’t know how hard those motors were used, but now that Power Functions has been discontinued for a couple years, and Powered Up is not an adequate replacement if you’re an AFOL (especially if you’re a GBCer), the value of motors has skyrocketed. At BWC22, they told us that an M-motor, which retailed for $7.99 on lego.com for pretty much its entire run, is going for $45 new. I’m pretty sure XL-motors are much harder to come by.

Is the jeep gonna be flipped over inside the tower? That would be amusing, although if it’s not, ‘Guaranteed protection from dinosaur attacks’ would be an awesome advertising slogan for CARVANA.

On the 14th I purchased a LEGO HP set online and on the 16th LEGO offered an exclusive “moving staircase” set for which my purchase would have qualified IF I had waited two days. Do I have any recourse besides crying in my oatmeal?

Return it to the store and buy it again.

Return it to the store and buy it again.

That idea was proposed to me, but someone suggested that there might be a restocking fee. (I clicked that I agreed to all those terms when I checked out, but I did not actually read the terms.) And the store might not have the “while supplies last” GWP set on hand. Another complicating factor is that I spent $40 VIP on this purchase … what happens to those when you return something?

Of course, it probably seems like gaming the system to consider all this, on the other hand it IS the most expensive LEGO set I ever purchased. 😛

I was looking for Muppets at Barnes & Noble and discovered several sets I knew nothing about … probably old news to the rest of you. 🙂

No, but thanks for asking – I found one on bricklink. 🙂

I acquired a technic bulldozer that sat on a shelf for 15 years. It was filthy, so I disassembled it, cleaning the pieces as I went and I verified completeness of the set with the bricklink inventory. I painstakingly removed the corrosion from the battery compartments and reassembled the set.

After many hours completing all of these steps, I am happy to announce that it works!

Do you know the set number on that one? I seem to recall that was a major set, I never got it. If I’m thinking of the right set, it predates Power Functions, which means you’re dealing with some older 9V electronics on that one, possibly the really long battery box. (The first pic came in at unusually small format, so I can’t pick out many specific pieces in that one.)

The set is 8275 Motorized Bulldozer. The electrical components are pictured below.

    Maaan, what is this?

I was trying to find pictures of my CARVANA tower and all I can find online is this other guy’s LEGO Ideas project. The only photo I have of my own is a work-in-progress. (attached)

Anyway, Arvind (one of the Seshan Brothers who won the International LEGO robotics competition) might finally help me mechanize this thing. 😀

When I saw the series 23 minifigs I was happy to see a bunch of winter-themed figs. I decided to stock up on gingerbraid girls with the gingerbread houses; I saw on bricklink that they were cheaper to import from the Netherlands, even with the shipping cost.

Apparently the price in Europe is comparatively low with sellers offering new figs for three dollars and change. It is going to be a race between my bricklink order from yesterday and the Bricks and Pieces order that I placed with TLG a month ago.

I changed the mausoleum (with the light-up jack-o-lanterns) on the hill to look more like this photo I took at the Allegheny County Cemetery last Spring and less like the Polar Express train tunnel that it was originally created to be.
