I really like the detailing in the front car!

Thank you! I’m not sure about expansion – I’m more into the architecture, buildings, and traps than the vehicles, and the only two buildings from the line that aren’t currently incorporated are 2996, Adventurer’s Tomb (which is basically just a doorway) and 5919, Valley of Kings (which feels like a stripped-down version of 5958, Mummy’s Tomb). While I have some builds from the Pharaoh’s Quest lineup, that style of architecture doesn’t really fit with the ’90s aesthetic I’m going for here.

(I apologize for the spam. I’ve been trying to upload multiple images per post, but it doesn’t seem to be working.)

Thank you! I’ll take a look at this – I have to scrap most of what I’ve been working with anyhow, as after some tinkering, the sarcophagus is too shallow to snugly fit a minifigure, and the edge of the lid still clips on the antistuds holding the slopes if I try to make it seal cleanly.

Thank you! The parts are just starting to come in now, and I have to give major props to Josh and Greg for helping me fix my sarcophagus build. The balloon and truck are classic Adventurers elements, but the temple was the main draw for me – and my budget for this project has been stretched enough as it is. Still, maybe for the future…

Thank you! Is this what you mean? If I do this, then there’s nothing for the grille slope to attach to.

It works with a 3L bar – 4L pushes into the antistud connection I’m using to attach the 1×3 plates.

…brilliant! I always forget about bar/clip builds; I’m so used to thinking in brick!

I’ve continued to iterate on the remake – I’ve discovered that the large slanted panels can be replaced with this collection of slopes and still retain a semblance of structural integrity!

I’ve also added a (somewhat crude) brick-built recreation of the classic sarcophagus.

Oh, man, what a find! Truly, the gem of 1998 (and I’d say that even without the nostalgia goggles)!

Thank you! Really, the bulk of it is just remaking the instructions 1-for-1 and forgoing printed elements. But I did have fun with the crocodile statues! I’m currently looking for ways I could recreate the effect with the revolving door and the magnetized Ruby trap in the courtyard…

I’ll see what I can do! Really, most of my builds are just from the box sets, but I’ll get some pictures of my custom Kingdom Hearts stuff.

To expand upon this, I’d like to lay out my conceptual breakdown for splitting the set.

    Module 1 – The Inn.
    Module 2 – The Woods/Dungeon.
    Module 3 – The Tower.
    Module 4 – The Dragon.
    Side Build – Beholder.
    Side Build – Owlbear.
    Side Build – Displacer Beast.
    Side Build – Gelatinous Cube.
Minifigure – Dwarf Cleric + Accessories.
Minifigure – Gnome Fighter + Accessories.
Minifigure – Orc Rogue + Accessories.
Minifigure – Elf Wizard + Accessories.
    Minifigure – Dragonkin + Accessories.
    Minifigure – Innkeeper/Wizard + Accessories.
    Minifigure – Mycoid x2.
    Minifigure – Skeleton x3.

Of all these elements, I am interested in Modules 2 (the Forest/Dungeon) and 3 (the Tower); I am partially interested in Module 1 (the Inn) for the sake of keeping the terrain/dungeon entrance together, but it can be fairly easily replaced by simply building out the path/cliff wall on a separate MILs plate. As for side builds/minifigures, I have some interest in the Gelatinous Cube and the Skeletons, but, again, am not married to them.

Hopefully this generates some interest or clarifies things a bit more?

I will not be able to attend, as I will be away for a wedding!

Lindsay – That creature is called a Beholder! The other creatures included are a Gelatinous Cube, Displacer Beast, and Owlbear.

Keith – It looks like the Mimic gift with purchase is sold out! It was very popular. However, it uses fairly basic parts and the instructions should be available via PDF on Lego’s website! I think, when I was parting it out on Lego’s online Pick-A-Brick, it came to around $35-$40.

As for pricing: initially, I’m looking at a $180/$180 split; the dragon is around 1/3 to 1/2 of the build all by itself, and the minifigures/side builds are some of the pricier elements due to the unique prints. Not sure how much value the included D&D adventure module is, and I’m happy to part with any other GWP sets that are included. This is open to negotiation, though, and if anyone else would like to join the pool!

Ack! I completely missed the replies. I’m in the Strip; I like making tableaus from Castle, Adventurers, and (most recently), Sonic sets. I’ve also made some custom Kingdom Hearts minifigs and a Hollow Bastion diorama that I’m trying to figure out how to convert onto a MILS plate.
