Might be a steal for someone, the Hogwarts Castle (450 retail) for 100 bucks, double check if it’s Lego!
December 16, 2024 at 8:40 am #62066Jonathan WagnerParticipantTalked with her on the phone Friday evening and will see her this Friday at the trolley museum, she couldn’t make it last week.
December 12, 2024 at 8:55 pm #62033Jonathan WagnerParticipantHey all!
Here’s another track find from Marketplace, not sure if the price is good or not:
December 6, 2024 at 10:02 pm #61906Jonathan WagnerParticipantOh that’s nice, if they start at 4, pretty sure I can do a few.
December 6, 2024 at 12:10 am #61885Jonathan WagnerParticipantWould definitely like to add in a Castle/Medieval Area for this. I think we have enough castle builds to fill a nice area, could even do a bit of a collab with it.
We could do one big train and a couple smaller train areas potentially, just depends on how much track we have and how the layout ends up being. The big/main loop of train should be on the edges and thus easily accessible. Smaller loops geared for specific areas should be able to be built to have access throughout.
December 5, 2024 at 10:35 pm #61879Jonathan WagnerParticipantSubbing, very interested in this.
December 5, 2024 at 10:33 pm #61878Jonathan WagnerParticipantWelcome to the group!
Interested in 10267 – Gingerbread House and 30271 – Mikey’s Mini Shell-raiser
December 5, 2024 at 10:08 pm #61877Jonathan WagnerParticipantWelcome Eli!
November 30, 2024 at 8:48 am #61796Jonathan WagnerParticipantDidn’t see this (usually you have to pay for timesonline articles) so that’s awesome!
November 30, 2024 at 8:47 am #61795Jonathan WagnerParticipantWelcome Michael!
If you are looking for just a mass amount of bricks for decent pricing, check out FB Marketplace and watch in your area for people getting rid of bulk Lego. Price varies bit average is usually 8-10 bucks a pound so if you can get several pounds for less (depends on piece type/size, etc) then you can pick up lots of pieces for a good deal.
Just be aware, a lot of times those have other bricks, like Megablocks and others, mixed in or other types of toys just thrown together so you may have to do some sorting but it’s a great way to get your brick count up to start with if you aren’t worried about specific sets.
November 29, 2024 at 1:17 pm #61775Jonathan WagnerParticipantCombining tables really shouldn’t be an issue as long as we level them all to the same height. Wedges or even post it notes stacks work great for this. The Post it nites are awesome because you can just tear off what you don’t need to get the level you want.
That idea of Josh’s is interesting, almost like we could have an inner island of stuff, maybe like bigger things such as Gabe’s crane, etc and the outer could be the “worlds”.
November 29, 2024 at 9:23 am #61766Jonathan WagnerParticipant@joshhall some of the times in the event listing are messed up, some 1:45 AMs and such.
November 18, 2024 at 6:53 pm #61634Jonathan WagnerParticipant@laura what time does the trolley museum open on Saturday?
Thanks!
November 17, 2024 at 6:11 pm #61630Jonathan WagnerParticipantGood news! Almost all the Hoth baseplates have been converted over to the project support ones and almost all the winter baseplates are back to normal! Should have them all at Winter Trolley setup this Saturday and in fact I just checked inventory and I’m all done! 31 ready to return to the LUG.
November 14, 2024 at 5:38 pm #61607Jonathan WagnerParticipantThose 2 images look exactly the same to me. I was thinking that the inner track could turn at the top right sooner and come straight down and cross over the snow field and then turn and go around the base/hangar area and on its merry way, should use about the same amount of track.
November 12, 2024 at 7:14 pm #61547Jonathan WagnerParticipant@laura looks good, what is the scale you are using? Hoth is definitely longer than wide (6 baseplates wide but 13 long, which we can pare down a lil to more like 11 if need be). OF course, one or two baseplates along the side and one at the end of the snowfield for the trains works great, will just take some adjustment and playing around with stuff.
October 20, 2024 at 6:47 pm #61171Jonathan WagnerParticipantOctober 20, 2024 at 8:33 am #61165Jonathan WagnerParticipant@skmk who are you? I don’t think you were displaying with us on Saturday.
October 18, 2024 at 12:32 am #61145Jonathan WagnerParticipantload in is 9-1130am so 9 is the earliest!
October 7, 2024 at 10:42 pm #60941Jonathan WagnerParticipantWell, thinking Hoth can be shortened without the UCS Falcon (gonna use the original one, much smaller) to 6 x 12 32×32 baseplates and perfect line for a train to go over the battlefield (tourists need to see it up close right?)
Thoughts?
October 7, 2024 at 10:35 pm #60939Jonathan WagnerParticipantI had to create the event for Library Con, create the shifts, safe it, go back in and change the shifts to the right time and save it again and then it was fine. Might work if every step is saved before you do the next thing.
October 6, 2024 at 9:27 pm #60919Jonathan WagnerParticipant@knb112 Tim is not able to go.
October 6, 2024 at 8:05 pm #60917Jonathan WagnerParticipantShifts are open!
October 4, 2024 at 10:26 pm #60890Jonathan WagnerParticipantI don’t know this is just how I’m doing it based on us having 4 8 foot tables but sharing with Beaver Library where kids will be doing some building also.
My first time leading an event also and it makes sense to have shift sign ups before the event so it’s covered and not forgotten. Besides, I figured your crane will be fun to watch drive around, no sitting for you 😉
October 4, 2024 at 11:02 am #60887Jonathan WagnerParticipantAdding in the event placeholder also, I will open it for shifts next week once I get a total count.
Beaver County Library-Con
Oct 19
Location: The Community College of Library and Dome Our libraries currently have 3 Lego clubs, and we’re hoping to grow that number. We believe that Librarycon would be a fantastic opportunity for you to connect with the community and help us grow some hype. Jon and I are in communication about possible activities, and attraction locations to have available. We can provide you with booth space/tables/area to demonstrate Lego activities. We have two locations, (The CCBC Dome and The Library) that participants travel back and forth from. The Dome houses all of the vendors, organizations, costume contest, etc. And the library is a sensory friendly area with our Tiny Art Show, Therapy Bunnies, and it could be a great location for Lug’s larger, more intricate displays– can’t have LIBRARYCON without a library to rep (Steel City LUG will be in the Dome). Let me know if you have any questions and we hope you can fit us into your event schedule. Thank you, Courtney Colaizzi
