Participant@zaximillian Yea I’m considering converting most of it to curved slopes for a smoother hull. I’m transferring the design to an online program called MecaBricks to see what I can do with it before I go gung-ho on rebuilding it. I’m also considering making the decks thinner and in one piece with the superstructure walls instead of separate pieces.

Participant@zaximillian I couldn’t agree more! It’s got a long way to go but it’ll be there sooner or later!

Participant@randomdan, thanks! Yea I just got some more work done on it. Here’s a picture of where I’m at so far. Only thing I don’t like is that the wing is a stud and a half too wide where it attaches to the fuselage. I do really like the shape of it though, and it is the best option I have found – flat angled plates can’t really do much in all honesty. So I guess I’ll just compromise on it for now. More pictures to come!

ParticipantI think my post accidentally submitted twice. If my first one could be deleted I’d appreciate it, sorry for the inconvenience – gotta love technology!

ParticipantThanks! Nope I pretty much just looked for an ex-WWII US Navy ship and this happened to be there – plus it had some nice guns! ๐

ParticipantGotcha – I’ll post on here somewhere calling all train fans of Steel City LUG to discuss a possibility for a layout – I might not be an adult yet, but I’ll try my best to help!

ParticipantYea that would work – I’m sure some members have the buildings, I can build some of the trains (I’m a train nut LOL), and hopefully we could have enough space someday to have grand curves! Do you know which members I can contact for train layout plans?

ParticipantBy that I’m meaning something like a layout for Steel City LUG that could be taken to spaces to display – kind of like PennLUG’s situation. A permanent layout might happen eventually though! Wish I could do more to help with providing a space but sadly I can’t

ParticipantYea Sig’s a great guy!
Nice!
Thanks! Man I’m glad I took it off the shelf and dusted it off to get pictures for Steel City LUG – when I am officially an adult (I’m 15 1/2 now ๐ ) I’ll display this and other creations at the main events!
P.S. – Also, I’d like to maybe put up a vote for a more permanent Steel City LUG train layout – do I have the power right now to put a vote up for that? If I do how should I do it?

ParticipantThanks! I’m working on it right now – hull is done, just working on getting the superstructure’s first layer done. Spoiler Alert: It’ll have lights!

ParticipantThanks, I love the show too! Will always be rooting for Sig Hansen and the Northwestern (although this might be his last season – he’s gonna be a grandpa!). I’ll be posting in the work in progress section (if there is one) later today with my latest build – the USCGC Tamaroa.

ParticipantGreg,
Do you mean my profile picture? If that’s the case, no, I drew that, but it’s an idea for a moc in the future! ๐
