ParticipantI am available to help out from 5(ish) to 7. I’ll be working in Warrendale so it shouldn’t take me long to get up there. I don’t have much in terms of Christmas sets, but we have the small kits from last year’s Star Wars and Harry Potter Advent Calendars and I also have a small Santa Claus from the 80s.

ParticipantAdam and I just finished our first build! It was fun, but very challenging to come up with an idea that works. At first, we were thinking of some sort of mecha, but that quickly went out the window once we saw what parts we had to work with. Adam built the body and I added some of the features to make a….jet-powered hydrofoil with water cannons instead. Now we just have to keep it from falling apart before the Q4 meeting. ๐

ParticipantKrista,
Thank you for sharing the list of vendors. I won’t need anything right now (we just dropped a bunch of $$$ on home remodeling projects), but I’ll keep your offer in mind next time.

ParticipantMatt,
Thank you for the insight. It sounds like the Philly show is the one to attend in the future.

ParticipantLEGO events like this in Pittsburgh are very infrequent, but if you are willing to drive to Virginia, Toronto, New Jersey, Philly or Chicago you can find more vendors.
Greg,
Thank you for the insight. It sounds like we’ll have to make the trip to VA or Philly next time. As far as vendors goes, my son and I were more interested in minifigure vendors that we find at other toy fairs/shows. I’m not sure if the minifigures they sell are legal/official LEGO products which may be why they weren’t at BFL.

ParticipantThe displays were AWESOME!
However, as a first-time attendee, it was a disappointing experience given the price of tickets (I know the group has nothing to do with this). We paid $50 for two tickets in the cheapest time slot (Sunday afternoon). I was shocked that there was only one vendor selling stuff. I was expecting something more like Toyapolooza in the other section of the convention center.
Has anyone else attended Brick Fest Live events in the past or in other locations? Was it the same thing? Expensive tickets and no/few vendors? Are there better LEGO shows to attend?
I don’t want to end on a down note so I will repeat what I started with – the displays were AWESOME! ๐

ParticipantJosh, I am interested in participating (this will be my first build!) and if there are any extras sets, I would like to pick up on one Sunday (our time slot is 2:00 to 5:00).
Thanks!

ParticipantHello. Is this course always virtual or will it be offered in-person in the future?

ParticipantMy son and I will be attending the show on Sunday in the afternoon (I believe our time slot is at 2:00) and will drop by the booth to check out the displays and say hi.

ParticipantDan,
I built one castle set and a couple of space sets with my son (brought back some good memories, too). The hardest part is trying to remember what set(s) I had because I no longer have the instruction manuals and have to rely on websites like this – https://www.toysperiod.com/lego-set-reference/ – to find instructions.
