I’m hoping to contribute to the Cranberry display.
March 9, 2016 at 7:09 am #15294Aaron GomezParticipantAnyone have some of these parts they are willing to sell?
I’ve been struggling to find good lots on Bricklink. I’ll take multiples if I can get them.- This reply was modified 8 years, 8 months ago by Aaron Gomez.
February 26, 2016 at 8:25 am #15125Aaron GomezParticipantDid notice the weird arm angle, tho… how u do dat?!?
February 24, 2016 at 3:25 pm #15110Aaron GomezParticipantWhat was the inspiration?
I built this for an online contest: https://www.flickr.com/photos/klubkockice/albums/72157663416762041. One of the categories was Ancient Civilization. Druids were one of my ideas for a civilization you rarely see in LEGO.
This build was also an inspiration: https://www.flickr.com/photos/legols/8253915231/in/dateposted/
Also, once you’ve built something like this, what happens to it?
It sits on my shelf till I need the parts, usually.
December 9, 2015 at 10:31 am #14416Aaron GomezParticipantthreadbump.
Yinz got three days to get your entries together. Keep building.
November 11, 2015 at 2:26 pm #14174Aaron GomezParticipantI just noticed your Flickr stream a few weeks ago. Pretty cool to hear you are in the area. Welcome to the club.
October 26, 2015 at 2:08 pm #13925Aaron GomezParticipantBack on topic: the clown’s hair seems cool until you realize those parts were hair to begin with… then it becomes marginally less cool, but still pretty cool, but definitely not as cool as the eyebrows. I think the mushroom bowtie is actually my second favorite bit… only Aaron would think to put ‘shrooms on a hot dog! (have you tried that in real life, @finntegotash?)
Naw, I’m more adventurous with my bricks than my food.
‘Cept maybe at Suzies, but I didn’t see mushrooms there…
October 26, 2015 at 12:13 pm #13918Aaron GomezParticipantAlso – do we have a Q4 meeting in the works at which we’ll have this contest?
Srsly, any news on this?
October 21, 2015 at 11:31 am #13871Aaron GomezParticipantI love everything about this, including the seagull eyebrows…
…except they said you lived near Pittsburg (presumably Oklahoma). What’s up with that?
I contacted them about this and its corrected now.
That’s great, I love the clown! I have no idea how you thought of using the seagull to make eyebrows.
Thank you Greg
For a week or so now, I’ve been thinking we should give someone a bonus cup credit if they get blogged by brothers brick or some other main site and get a link/mention to steel city lug. This will help support the goal of getting global recognition to steel city lug that I mentioned at Q3. Way to force my hand to a decision. Well done. +1 cup.
Good timing Josh
October 17, 2015 at 7:37 pm #13849Aaron GomezParticipantWell I’ll at least bring my micro GARC…I don’t think I have anything else to display.
October 7, 2015 at 11:58 am #13585Aaron GomezParticipantDoes anyone know what they’re bringing yet? Tim had some good ideas but most of the people he mentioned won’t be there.
September 26, 2015 at 10:55 am #13407Aaron GomezParticipantI think we ought to start planning another space meet-up.
Are there any plans in the works still for trading meet-ups?
September 23, 2015 at 3:41 pm #13395Aaron GomezParticipantGlad to have seen this. Thanks Josh.
September 22, 2015 at 6:50 pm #13338Aaron GomezParticipantI was thinking that since this is our first time there, we should approach this similar to the Girl Scout event. No coordinated display; just bring whatever you want. It would be neat to have various themes represented, for example: Town (me, Greg, Ben); Space (Evan, Dan, Dan), Modified sets (Nick with the Star Wars carousel; Modulars/modular compatible (Joe, Josh with the Whipped Café); Microscale (Micah, Aaron); Trains (Laura); etc. It does not have to be a huge amount of stuff, just a variety and good quality.
Easy and interesting display. Sounds like a good plan.
September 18, 2015 at 4:19 pm #13225Aaron GomezParticipantreally? wtf. so they’re going out…just not to me…? SELF DESTRUCTIVENESS!
I haven’t been getting them either for a few days.
September 15, 2015 at 9:20 pm #13193Aaron GomezParticipantIt’s too early for me to commit but I’m interested.
September 12, 2015 at 11:38 am #13157Aaron GomezParticipantSeptember 5, 2015 at 6:22 am #13128Aaron GomezParticipantI’m looking to get a few of the spectre/dementor figure.
August 25, 2015 at 3:33 pm #13043Aaron GomezParticipantCheers Matt!
[Okay, technically I didn’t get a pic of Aaron’s rockin’ GARC but that’s just because he packed it up so early…]
I just assumed after Greg’s judging everyone had gotten to see the builds as much as they wanted too. 😉
August 24, 2015 at 1:15 pm #13028Aaron GomezParticipantWell, I didn’t bring a camera to the meeting so I didn’t get photos of all the builds but you can view my entry here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/126930055@N04/20846297875/in/dateposted-public/
August 10, 2015 at 8:53 pm #12844Aaron GomezParticipantI’ll bring a little something to this challenge.
May 29, 2015 at 2:17 pm #11761Aaron GomezParticipantI found them for $4 at Toys R Us today.
May 1, 2015 at 12:16 pm #11467Aaron GomezParticipantI will arrive around 8:30 tomorrow morning to set up my space sets and anything else that still needs to be set up.
April 23, 2015 at 5:22 pm #11374Aaron GomezParticipantI’ll try to at least send that stuff so there’s some train-related space to go with your stuff, Aaron.
That would be great. I think my display will be 64×64 if that helps you.
April 17, 2015 at 1:23 pm #11145Aaron GomezParticipantDid you get any of the space builders to come? If not, I have a few classic space sets and baseplates from my dad that I could probably throw together into a little display. I might do my own design instead of the sets, depending on how much time I have.
