Official LUG camping trip? I’m in.
May 30, 2018 at 8:11 pm #27423Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantA lot was gone. If you need BrickHeadz, Nexo Knights, or the Destiny’s Bounty, then you are in luck.
September 14, 2015 at 12:56 pm #13164Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI have a box on back order from S.W. Randalls, but when it arrives, I could definitely do some trading for the pirate zombie, office zombie, and gargoyle.
August 26, 2015 at 3:37 pm #13044Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantMan, I feel a little out of the loop on this, granted I’ll be picking up another box of these. Conveniently, I should have trick or treaters, witches, and scientists left over what I’m looking for, I’ll let everyone know a final price break (but it will definitely be better than $4 each)
September 26, 2013 at 12:02 pm #3435Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantRich, do you also have those 2 figures we talked about?
September 18, 2013 at 7:44 pm #3348Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantSeptember 16, 2013 at 12:06 am #3288Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantSo, day 1 of the gallery install looks great. I will be there tomorrow (Monday) and Tuesday from 3 to 7 pm. Please let me know at (412) 523-9882 if you are coming down. We have also been invited to extend the show another week, which will put us breaking down the show on the 29th. This also provides a great opportunity to be seen by over 1,200 people at the Gallery Crawl on the 27th. I am working on the doodle so we can figure out who can take what shift.
September 14, 2013 at 8:46 pm #3282Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI can confirm there are two places , possibly one more to park out front of the gallery, and congratulations on the write up! I just finished crating up my models to take to the gallery. Do we have a general idea of who will be there?
September 13, 2013 at 11:22 am #3269Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantLike an idiot, my first thought was “But where are we going to get stands?” and then I realized what we are. I’ll be building the stands while waiting for drop offs Monday and Tuesday.
September 9, 2013 at 4:43 pm #3161Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantFuture Tenant has some parking right in front, available at 6pm. I will hopefully be able to block it off with a few cones for our use. If not, the gallery is attached to the garage there.
September 9, 2013 at 12:23 pm #3158Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantGood to see you, Rodney. I will be at the gallery on Sunday from Noon until about 5-6pm (depending on when Dan and I get tired/ hungry/ frustrated.) I am looking forward to seeing your projects in person.
September 9, 2013 at 12:09 pm #3154Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantFrom the email I just sent out.
Hello all,
It is not exceptionally urgent that the cubes be there on Sunday, but the more time that it has on display, it should result in a larger turnout for the event. I would like as much as possible set up on Sunday from Noon to 5 or 6, and have a hard cut off date for Tuesday evening, since I have to be travel to the gallery to make sure everyone can get in. To that end, if you do not wish to drop of your MOCs at Dan’s prior to Sunday, I will be at the gallery Monday from 3-8, and the same for Tuesday evening. If you cannot make any of those times, and would still like to contribute, please let me know. I would also like to put together a hard list of what is being contributed by each person to the display.I would like to have the display completely ready by Wednesday. I’ll also be posting this on the forum. As to the contributions, as I understand them so far:
Andrew:
Redcoat ship, 4 corners of CCC standard fort, central baseplate for fort. 3 9volt trails, 1 RC trainTim:
2 CCC standard wallsMatt:
2 CCC standard wallsDan:
Bluecoat FleetDoug:
Medieval VillageRich:
4 StarfightersJosh:
Sidney Crosbrick, Cathedral of Learning, HP/Volde lenticular mosaic, The LUG banner, 1 bin of my personal unsorted,
my 2 dig cubes +16 wide filler cube, mini ‘brick the bridge’Please help me update this list so that I can plan where the risers and tables need to be in the gallery. If you need to get ahold of me quickly, my phone number is (412) 523-9882

September 6, 2013 at 5:05 pm #3102Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantEverything built in this thread looks great, and I am looking forward to seeing it in person. The first post has the new information, and as for the large lot, I am definitely in, and will see you Sunday.
September 6, 2013 at 12:55 am #3078Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantThat sounds good to me, the covering with rock and grass would look great.
September 5, 2013 at 11:50 am #3053Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI don’t have permission to update the first post, otherwise I would gladly do it. I also talked with the gallery again, the window is available, and would stop people from touching it. Also, there is a reception of that Friday, from 7-10pm. And Matt, that sounds good, we can definitely make any even number of wall sections work. (it might be really easy to invade the fort if there is a whole in the wall)
September 2, 2013 at 4:40 pm #2981Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI like that idea.
September 2, 2013 at 4:29 pm #2979Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI would personally like to see at least 4 section of wall, but personally I would rather see 8, as that would make a fort with a 40″x40″ footprint, which would also provide a chance to input a few scenes in the fort itself.
September 2, 2013 at 4:21 pm #2978Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI just got an email from the guy, he has listed them on Ebay at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Pirates-HUGE-LOT-67-minifigures-4-ships-guns-sets-6271-6278-7416-/271265927859?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item3f28b592b3
It is interesting to note that at the time I write this, it has a reserve of $250, with 7 hours left in the auction, and no bids. The page also has much better pictures of the entire lot, and I was correct, there are 8 CMF. In addition, there is also 2 Bluecoat torsos down in the lower right quadrant of the image. If we can pull this for $250 off ebay, it would be an even better deal.
September 2, 2013 at 1:50 pm #2971Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantGood thing I have plenty of murder holes in the fort to stop such an attack. Prepare to be hoist by your own petard.
The four corners of the fort are finished, and I am working on an inventory of my trains, track, and rolling stock for this display, as well as the next few.
Is anyone else planning on bringing trains?
September 2, 2013 at 1:46 pm #2969Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI just sent him an email, asking for higher resolution photos. While I would love to get my hands on any redcoats, I will definitely give up the 4 royal guards to Josh, and it appears there is also a Conquistador in the mix. If that is the case, that means Josh will kick in $28, leaving us with $272, to divide up among ourselves. I know I am looking for Redcoats and Islanders, and I know Dan is looking for Bluecoats. What are you looking for in the assortment, Matt?
September 1, 2013 at 6:46 pm #2955Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantOffhand, I also think we should do a general inventory of what we have available, both in terms of track, and in terms of engines and rolling stock. I am in the middle of that now for the Future Tenant display, but there is no reason why this could not be a base list to plan displays in the future, especially this one.
August 31, 2013 at 9:52 am #2930Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantAnyone else want to go in on that?
August 30, 2013 at 8:18 pm #2928Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantI had my meeting with the gallery today, and we sorted out what there is to have for display space. There are:
(2) 4ft x 6ft platforms (another additional one may be available)
(2) 8 ft tables
(1) 4 ft table
(8) display pedestals, each one at least a square foot.I have been working on the 4 corners for the modular fort, so that has taken up most of my grey bricks, and I am planning on sorting out my LEGO trains over the next few nights.
The gallery owners are also very excited to have us there.
In the next few days, I would like to figure out who is bringing what so that I can start to design the space.
Let me know what you all think.
August 28, 2013 at 12:48 pm #2880Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantEverything should be safe, as I now have the gallery hours for public display.
The gallery will be open:
11am to 7pm Thursday
Noon to 9pm Friday
Noon to 10:30pm Saturday.Of those, alcohol will only be available(to the public) from 7-9pm Friday, and 7pm-10pm on Saturday, when there will probably be more than myself there. In addition to me being there to watch whenever the gallery is open, there will also be one, most likely two members of the Gallery there to watch the space.
August 27, 2013 at 2:52 pm #2856Andrew W. Huntley IIParticipantThat is an excellent idea, and yes, I am doing 4 corner plates, with a light bley as the predominate color. I am also having one of those corners being under construction (due to a lack of bley brick) so it will have a lot of reddish brown as well. Dan, if we can use your place to stage a lot of the MOCs, that would be amazing.
