I’m also new to the group and I’m on the opposite side of Pittsburgh. Do you still have all of your childhood lego or only what you’ve started collecting as an adult?
I have my brother’s and my lego from when we were kids. I haven’t built with it at all, but I do enjoy flipping thru the original instruction books.

This is great.
October 24, 2024 at 1:22 pm #61262Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantI have a Gingerbread house I could possibly bring. What is the display period?
October 24, 2024 at 12:31 pm #61254Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantNice! If you need more pieces from the space sets – lmk. I might have added the 3-packs to my orders when they were offering double points and a discount on that set to push me over the GWP threshold earlier this year and thus have, um, “several” extras….

October 22, 2024 at 9:52 pm #61210Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantWelcome Rhett!
One of my first sets was a lego space set and my youngest and I have enjoyed combing thru this Lego Space book. Great looking build!
October 8, 2024 at 1:39 pm #60945Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantYep – that’s the one. Was just looking to buy local before I shopped online.
September 23, 2024 at 12:23 pm #60716Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantOh cool! Look forward to meeting you
next week.lol – misread the calendar. Oct 19, look forward to meeting you on Oct 19.September 23, 2024 at 12:22 pm #60715Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantOh man, narrowing down the scale in I’m interested in is half my challenge right now. Haha
I’m looking at a few different ideas for microfigs- I really like the 3-4 plate tall mobs Lego made for the crafting table and the initial micro world sets, so I’ll probably recreate those, especially as the printed tiles are fairly cheap.
For other small scale builds, the heroica scale microfigs are very cool. So I might look to build more in that scale for castles and such. I stumbled across them years ago by chance and am trying to increase my collection of those.
And I’ve managed to accrue a fair number of space babies, and astronaut and alien statuettes, so I’ll probably keep playing around with ideas in those scales as well. I missed the space babies GWP, so that’s on my current hunt list.
September 9, 2024 at 6:57 pm #60526Ken Soriano-ClarkParticipantVery cool!
I was delighted to see the Minecraft Crafting Block set, and the midi/micro-scale Star Wars sets. It’s nice to have a millennium falcon that didn’t break the bank and can tuck away nicely on a bookcase. Over the summer, I tracked some promotional Build and Takes for the Dreamzzz series and we recreated those, which was a lot of fun. And we are planning to recreate the original Minecraft Micro Worlds sets next.
The brick link builder program mini challenges are always fun to see how people have reduced those sets. Lots of great inspiration.
