ParticipantRegarding Brickfair MOC’S: for those displaying with the LUG, how do we handle the “theme” to avoid having the theme leader make space for a MOC that’s going to be in the LUG display?
I could be wrong with this, but I believe when you register yourself and your MOCs, as long as you specify Steel City LUG where it asks, it takes it out of the “theme” sections and automatically allocates space for it in the space for that respective LUG. I could be wrong but that’s how I’ve always interpreted the system

ParticipantIs there a deadline for MOC registration?
A hard deadline I dont believe so, they do typically have a date listed on the site where if you register after, MOC cards wont be printed for you. You need to use their computer set up on site and make them there

Participant@greg I appreciate you looking out for me! As much as I would love some of the stuff in there, If I come home with more fire trucks my wife would likely kill me.

ParticipantThanks for working on this, Ben! I was going to work on this for you but got pulled away from my computer before I could attempt it. I think the Display looks good personally and I do like the flexibility of being able to add an inside table if we wanted to!

Participant(turns out the kid is the son of one of the other exhibitors at the show)
Was it one of the Lumber vendors by chance? I ask because the last time I staffed (Sunday I do believe) there was a kid about that age from one of the Lumber booths who was talking to @gabevistica for what seemed like hours about where to buy bulk minifigs and what not. Just curiosity on my end is all.

ParticipantI agree that design looks good! Makes a very interesting and unique token!
For what its worth I’m sorry this conversation has dissolved the way it has. More pressing things seem to have always taken me away from this. I currently am working on a small fire truck token that I plan on passing out as well.

ParticipantThere needs to be a better system for this as it’s very time consuming. Could be the motors being tired too from all day running but I for one am not going to spend the whole time managing those trains.
Welcome to staffing life. While yes it can get annoying, it comes with the territory. My guess is you were actually replacing batteries when you should’ve just been allowing the train to cool down a bit (typically they are good for two 1 hour 15 minute runs depending on what they are hauling). Having the 3 power functions rechargeable boxes did help considerably.
It will be the st Patrick’s day parade, and John singer will attest to the flood of people as a result. The more the merrier for Saturday, for sure.
Its a No from me dog… In all seriousness though I hope everyone who can staff for Saturday will. I have no doubt with the incoming nice weather it will be incredibly busy.

ParticipantI do remember Todd mentioning an issue with badges and people trying to sneak people in. He didn’t name the people, but I have a sneaky suspicion it may have been the influencers who were sharing space with us. From what I heard just walking around they were causing some other issues too other than what was happening in our area.
That said, I don’t remember specifically what he said his solution was. Last year I wore my LUG badge and put the 2024 Brickfair brick underneath it. Wasn’t hidden at all.. no one gave me any hassle or issue. I see the validity in what he is saying and trying to prevent. It’s a shame that it has to come to this though .

ParticipantI went in today as expected and set up all of mine and @nkurta0505 stuff. I ended up not putting out as many trucks as I thought I would over in the stand alone MOCs section, so we have some extra space over there if anyone needs it. We can also condense a bit more if needed.
@rcgrier3406 no switch to turn on my lights. Just need to plug in the USB box. Both the plug for the box and the extension cord are underneath the building fire on top of one of the road plate boxes.March 3, 2025 at 7:59 pm #63434Will McDine
ParticipantI filled out the spreadsheet. If preferred I would like a single depth table, not double that appears to be default on the sheet. Like last year I do plan on needing electric. My display will look similar to last years but I am hoping to have some new fire trucks, and bring back my One World Trade MOC that hasn’t been seen since Brickfair Exton.

ParticipantI had to modify some things in terms of my availability due to things outside of my control. That said I will not be available for initial drive in tomorrow like I had hoped. I also had to drop out for Saturday due to an event that I had no idea required my presence. That said I am still coming for Install Wednesday and staffing the first friday and both Sundays. Just to verify, do we need to be out of there by 1pm on install days? That is all that is listed on the sign ups for set up and I just want to verify to plan accordingly. In addition there appears to be no install time for Thursday. I don’t know for sure that will be needed, but it might offer some flexibility.
As of right now I plan on bringing my apartment fire scene as well as my other MILS’ed buildings, as well as some fire trucks and my forest fire scene. I can bring other things if needed but for right now thats all I planned on. I also have 2 of the LUG branded table covers and black table cloths that I will bring with me to set up.

ParticipantI would for sure be more available for a Sunday than a Saturday. In terms of time, around noonish would be best for me but I am flexible between like noon and 4. Location I do not have a preference. That said, I know right off the bat that May 4th, and May 11th do not work for me.

ParticipantMeant to update here a few days ago and I completely forgot. I reserved 2 32×32 spaces for my High rise fire scene. this is the same scene as years past but I have added lights, So I will need extra time to set that up and wire it all. The lights for this are USB powered and not 9 volt, When I set it up I will run the cords to make sure that the power comes on with the rest of the 9-volt power that way there is no extra plug ins required. If need be I have some extra 32×32 buildings I can bring in such as “Roberta’s Disney Store” and a generic fire house. I wanted to spread the wealth a bit and not take up too much space. I also reserved a portion of MOC space for myself and Nicholas to share.

ParticipantThe load in day to drive on the floor is Tuesday. Not monday.
Thanks for pointing that out! I will have to double check my schedule as the day gets closer then. Tuesdays are constricted for me if I work the hospital Monday overnight.

ParticipantI can contribute my building fire again this year. This building would be best placed in a corner roadway either at an intersection or a natural curve. I can also fill some space with fire trucks If needed
