I’m going to take the low road and say that I was severely offended by @finntegotash and his comment on flickr suggesting that I’m an old fart that doesn’t know what all the cool trends are in the AFOL community and throw the gauntlet to the whipper snappers this Quarter. He and @hacim get to pick the build challenge. I think single part build was suggested. When it’s not a school night, and when you don’t have to do your chores for computer time, feel free to set the challenge for the group. 😉

September 18, 2015 at 10:01 am #13222Matt RedfieldKeymasterChallenge Accepted. Unless I don’t get around to it. As per usual.
September 19, 2015 at 1:22 am #13261Micah BeidemanParticipantOnce you pick a peice out, it’s hard to spend too much time on it. both the ones I’ve done were quick one day builds. If your having trouble thinking of a piece use, and willing to do illegal connections, something with a clip on it normally works well. You can connect it to another clip, bar, plate, and I’m sure much more, in a lot of different ways. I tried to take advantage of that in this build: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97645378@N02/20397680124/in/dateposted-public/
September 19, 2015 at 8:35 am #13263Greg SchubertParticipantMicah is up for judging
Based on the beast, Micah would probably crush this contest.

No such thing. If the pieces fit together, it works. Anyways, that is good advice. And Greg is right, Micah would probably crush us all in this contest. Now all we have to worry about is Aaron. 🙂
October 21, 2015 at 10:56 pm #13877JoshKeymasterQuestion:
I’ve pretty much finished my entry. However, I’d like to “improve” it by adding different parts to it. My question is, can I submit my entry now, via pictures, and then continue “finishing” my build? I’m not sure I can wait.
October 21, 2015 at 11:07 pm #13878Micah BeidemanParticipantSure, I’ll allow that!
Seeing creations in real life can make them easier to judge though, so if you could have the improved build there, that would still help a lot 😉October 21, 2015 at 11:20 pm #13879JoshKeymasterOh, don’t you worry, it will be here…….
October 22, 2015 at 9:04 am #13880David H DonleyParticipantJosh wins already. So by showing your winning entry, nobody else is going to participate.
Seriously, we have no shot at winning.
October 22, 2015 at 9:11 am #13881Matt RedfieldKeymasterSeriously, we have no shot at winning.
Well, not with that attitude…
by showing your winning entry, nobody else is going to participate.
I am quite sure that was Josh’s strategy here. Intimidation. But… do you think he’s compensating for something…?
October 22, 2015 at 9:14 am #13882Greg SchubertParticipantby showing your winning entry
where is it?
October 22, 2015 at 9:47 am #13883JoshKeymasterIn my basement.
October 23, 2015 at 10:28 am #13891LauraParticipantlol lamp post anyone?
October 23, 2015 at 10:50 am #13892Matt RedfieldKeymasterSPOILER ALERT!
lol lamp post anyone?
But just to clarify – different colors of the same part are acceptable, no? Based on @hacim’s beast, and some others in the photostream, I’m assuming so. Also… some people in that group don’t get the point – the first four photos in the stream at the moment (pigs, Star Wars x2, plants) aren’t even close to 1PU. What the heck?
Also – do we have a Q4 meeting in the works at which we’ll have this contest?

October 23, 2015 at 11:28 am #13895Micah BeidemanParticipantYes, different colors are aloud.
As far as the group goes, the admin doesn’t moderate it super closely, but I’m sure those photos will get removed in the next couple days.October 26, 2015 at 12:13 pm #13918Aaron GomezParticipantAlso – do we have a Q4 meeting in the works at which we’ll have this contest?
Srsly, any news on this?

Yinz got three days to get your entries together. Keep building.

I am quite sure that was Josh’s strategy here. Intimidation.
BTW, this was precisely his downfall in that LEGO firewalk at PBF this past spring…
