ParticipantHello everyone, Richard Murphy here. Typical Lego story – grew up with ’em and still love ’em plus Legos are my only place where I can go and forget all the other stuff that is going on. I’m a simple guy and a simple builder, no technic or art or fancy stuff for me – my love is my little Lego town called Longville (Lego Only, No Glue-ville) in which I have MOC houses and businesses and some of Lego’s recent modular stuff. We’ve recently moved here and my Lego town is mostly in boxes but for the first time I have dedicated space for it in our older house and can’t wait to finally get it laid out properly. I’m also a Star Wars fan (go figure) and I have the big Falcon and a few other things – my love in that area is ships. I’ve got the Saturn V (can’t wait for the pad and umbilical tower) and a space shuttle. I look forward to engaging with you as time and events allow and I’m also looking forward to picking up some bricks or some sets locally – glad to see that some of you have some bricklink stores. I’ve had good luck with a bricklink store in New Jersey, but now I’ll shop local. To me I can never have enough bricks or town sets, so if you want to part with either or both, please give me a ping. Otherwise, if you like a simple small-town motif, I’m your guy! I respect the complex stuff, of course, don’t get me wrong……I guess I’m like the older guy back in the day who had a giant scale-model train set in his basement. I know I’m in good company either way. Peace and have a good day.

ModeratorWelcome to the LUG. There is a Lego Store at Ross Park Mall and this weekend (Saturday and Sunday), we are doing a large display at the Mall for International Lego Day – see the thread here: https://www.steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/international-lego-day-2025/
If you can make it, many of the LUG members will be there displaying and talking with the public.

ParticipantWelcome! I’m a little jealous that you have the Saturn V, that came out during my dark age and I haven’t gotten around to getting one from Bricklink yet.

ParticipantThanks Gabe – I love it. Had a giant plastic model of it when I was a kid but this Lego version is pretty awesome….it’s a statement piece for sure. 🙂
