    Hi all,

I’m wondering if any of you happen to know if other plastic toys are made of the same plastic as LEGO. I’m wondering if perhaps MEK might work as a bonding agent. I’ve tried gorilla glue, super glue, and oher things and nothing quite does the job. Here’s hoping that someone here has some experience in this!

    Thanks,
    Todd

I don’t know if it’s the same type of plastic, but when I used to work with different miniatures, this seemed to work with most types of plastic models. Any store that does Warhammer 40k or similar games will probably have something similar to this for sale, may even have an open bottle you could try out.

Thanks for the reply Adam. I did some quick research and it sounds like it may likely be ABS, like LEGO. Maybe I’ll run over to a hobby shop here soon to check out what they have.

Still would love to hear any other ideas out there!

We’ve used MEK, but it can be destructive so it must be applied carefully. However, it will bind the plastic strong enough for most uses.
