July 7, 2026 at 3:10 pm #70209Hello Justin, and welcome. To my knowledge, you are the group’s first Bionicle person. It only took us 14 years. Presumably you have been made aware of the Q3 meeting in August.
July 10, 2026 at 9:55 pm #70242Hello, Im not quite sure what all goes on in this group, what meeting? Is there more information available?
July 10, 2026 at 11:32 pm #70243This meeting: https://steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/q3-business-meeting-aug-29-bethel-park/#post-70220 !
We hold a business meeting (and general social gathering) each quarter of the year in various locations around the city. This year, Q1 was at Bricks and Minifigs in Zelienople, Q2 was at the library in Penn Hills, and I thi8nk Q4 will be at BAM in Allison Park, but Q3 is special. Q3 is the quarter of the year when the LUG was founded, so we have an extra big event including food (part potluck, part pooled-funds catering) and a whole bunch of activities. It’s nearly always held at “HQ”, which is Josh Hall’s house, and we’ve recently been using a nearby church hall as well to have more space.
This will somehow be the first year I can manage to attend, so I’m really looking forward to it. Hope to see you there!
The other upcoming local event we have confirmed right now is our annual spot at the Fayette County Fair, this year on August 1. We’ll be in the 4H building from 10 to 6 or so, and you’re welcome to show up whenever. If you want to bring stuff to show off to us and the public, feel free, but no pressure! More details are on the thread: https://steelcitylug.com/forum/topic/fayette-county-fair-2026/#post-68979
Other than those, there’s a variety of conventions happening (or already happened) this summer from as close as Erie to as far as Chicago, Texas, and the other side of DC if that sort of thing sounds interesting to you. Keep an eye on the forums and/or chat on Discord (link at the bottom of the homepage if you aren’t already there) and you’ll see the conversations happening. We promise we’re friendly! 😀
