WrigleyParticipantHello everyone! My name is Wrigley! I graduated from WVU last spring and found myself with a brand new job in Pittsburgh! I collect alot of areas of Lego, including Star Wars, Trains, Mars Mission, Transformers, and basically anything my engineering mind decides look cool! I’m a mechanical engineer so I am always finding ways to use 3D printing to improve Lego! I also make custom minifigs as a hobby! I’d love to find ways to participate and eventually able to display parts of my collection at events! None of the discord links seem to work for me so if someone could lend a hand that would be amazing! Can’t wait to meet some of you and find new ways to get involved in the Lego community!

ParticipantIf my memory is serving me right, I (JR) was with you in several creative writing courses at WVU. I laughed when I saw your name pop-up… how we had several courses together at WVU and LEGO never came up is honestly kinda surprising!
Do apologize if this is a different Wrigley, but it is a fairly unique name…

WrigleyParticipantNope its me! I did very little lego related during college since my collection was back home. Now “most” of it is with me here and im settled in enough to start doing some things with it agin!

February 27, 2026 at 9:12 am #68550Welcome!
Josh already mentioned the Q1 meeting that’s TOMORROW, but we also have one of our biggest shows of the year happening next week. We’ll have a big display for the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show at David L Lawrence Convention Center downtown (excuse me, DAHNTAHN) March 6th thru 15th, come hang out!
February 27, 2026 at 4:29 pm #68555Welcome! Look forward to meeting you!
February 27, 2026 at 7:41 pm #68557Welcome Wrigley, looking forward to seeing you at a future event. This is a great group.

WrigleyParticipantThanks! I’m in Coraopolis, closer to Moon and Clinton! I am planning on being there tomorrow!!
February 28, 2026 at 9:33 pm #68591Welcome to the LUG. If you like trains, we’ll be displaying a lot of them at the HG show in early March.
I go by Phoenix Train Works on FB if you like to see some unusual STEM themed trains as Lego MOCs.February 28, 2026 at 9:37 pm #68593
WrigleyParticipantIf absolutely love to get my trains off my living room floor and on display but I’ll be working during setup and potentially teardown. Idk how I could get them there to run, but im happily open to suggestions! I dont have any moc trains (yet) but I’ve got a great collection of the set trains
February 28, 2026 at 10:12 pm #68596Hey, if you want, you could sign up for one shift during the week and show up with your trains for that shift. We had someone do that last year as he could only make it one Saturday but he really wanted to run his Pensy train on the layout with us.

WrigleyParticipantUnfortunately I’m too new at work to get off to be able to make it during the week. I work 7:30 to 4 on weekdays. My family was debating coming in for the weekend to see the show so I may bring some then if theres any time open or if someone gives the go ahead! I know the weekend is high tide so if there is alot going on already I completely understand! It would be pretty cool to join and 2 weeks later have part of my collection on display even for part of a day!
February 28, 2026 at 10:26 pm #68598
WrigleyParticipantI have the 60197 passenger, 60051 high speed, 60470 arctic train, and hopefully by next weekend my 7939 and 7366 engines will be complete (my collection is very random right now). I also have the bnsf engine but no 9V motor to run it. Id be happy to bring some!
February 28, 2026 at 10:37 pm #68599Hey, if you can only make it for sometime on the weekend that’s fine. The formal shifts are related to cup credit (ask Josh Hall about that) and making sure that at least someone is staffing the tables. Just be sure to introduce yourself to whoever is keeping the trains running. Personally, I’m there for a few weekend shifts and wouldn’t mind the visit and checking out your trains. I have a motorized Behemoth Bascule Bridge on the layout if you want to see that working with the trains. I also like to make video tours of the LUG’s train layout so the more trains that get featured, the better. 🙂
March 1, 2026 at 7:27 am #68603Yeah, we’ll have 9V and RC track loops and you’re welcome to drop by for a while to hang out! If you want to bring some trains just stick them in a box or bag to carry. We’ll have the details of how to get into the show as a vendor posted on the event thread sometime after setup, to avoid making things confusing for setup itself.
