David H DonleyParticipantHello Lindsay and welcome! I live in Washington, so it’s great that there is finally someone who lives close to me. I am sure we probably know many of the same people in Amity. Your Lego interests are pretty close to mine as well. Never heard of a “waffle” before, but I am curious as to what they are. Thanks for joining!

David H DonleyParticipantIt looks amazing, I am totally interested, but there is no way I would be able to make a fair offer. It would be insulting to you.

David H DonleyParticipantI’m in.

David H DonleyParticipantThanks @greg. I don’t see the Craigslist one anymore. The worst part is I have 2 sets of every minifig, and 2 half sets of the Black Pearl. I may just try to part it out when I have some free time and see what the missing parts will cost me.

David H DonleyParticipantThe one thing I learned from the first episode is Lego will 100% be releasing a new monorail set. It was the highlight of the entire episode. It was shown in detail multiple times, and even had the QR code take you to a video about the monorail.
Outside of the ferris wheel and almost working roller coaster, I wasn’t super impressed so far with any of the builds from the contestants. I’m hoping things change, because an entire episode of just failures isn’t going to be fun to watch.

David H DonleyParticipantI feel like it is going to suck.

David H DonleyParticipantAmazing work Micah. Absolutely amazing.

David H DonleyParticipantI went yesterday to see if they still had any, and they did not. The Walmart in Washington sucks when it comes to Lego. They are slowly introducing new sets, but in a very haphazard way. While walking around I contemplated trying to get a job there, just to fix whatever they are doing.

David H DonleyParticipantShould I have?

David H DonleyParticipantDid you notice the Washington Walmart didn’t have a single Star Wars set on their shelves?

David H DonleyParticipantI am building a wall of nails that will act as the stopper. Let the demolition derby begin!

David H DonleyParticipantOnly Lego elements.

David H DonleyParticipantI will judge.

David H DonleyParticipantOB? It’s the way you should be. Keep it simple. And set yourself free. From the extra, that you really don’t need. So try OB and you’ll see.

@lunch36, didn’t you post something within the last year or two about getting a good deal on a train station? There is one on sale at S@H right now, I think its 60050, but it still looks too pricey to me.
Also here is the chance to get the Big Bang Theory for 20% off. Of course I’m regretting that I bought one at full price.
The heavy hauler train is also on sale, is that the one we got in the support boxes? Those train pieces could help to make a decent trolley, if one were so inclined.

David H DonleyParticipantUm, I’ll allow that, but the idea of the challenge is to really be creative and use a piece in a way that you normally wouldn’t. Use it somewhere where you might normally use a different piece. Because I don’t know what your building, maybe this fits, but depending how the build is executed and whatnot, you might be docked points in the judging process
Why wouldn’t you allow it? The examples on the page that was provided for examples does exactly that. How else could you connect a crap ton of cheese slopes together in a 1PU challenge?

David H DonleyParticipantJosh wins already. So by showing your winning entry, nobody else is going to participate.
Seriously, we have no shot at winning.
