Zach BauerParticipant😮 thanks for the tip @greg! Looks like I better make a call.

Zach BauerParticipant@greg sounds good. I’ll bring my ghostbusters equipment also just in case 😉
Should be either July or August but I’ll let you know.

Zach BauerParticipantI am looking into conducting an energy audit of a church. Does @zbauer (or anyone else) know of a cost effective way to do this?
There is an “Energy Doctor” in Westmoreland County who seems very experienced but also very expensive.
I’m intrigued @greg! I did a little bit of it in school. I could probably help out with everything that can be observed outside of a blower door test (the analysis part of materials, energy bills, etc.) then you could just hire someone to do a blower door test if needed to understand the air changes of the building.
I didn’t run an energy analysis on the Lego church I built but I imagine it would be poor since the entire back was left open to the elements!

Zach BauerParticipantWow, pretentious and entitled, spoken like a true New Yorker. Rub it in, why don’cha?
So accurate it hurts haha
Put me down for $20 share of C3 though

Zach BauerParticipantI wonder if the exit of toys r us in our area will increase any potential for an official lego store…
I have so many stores near me that I could probably just give you one 🙂

Zach BauerParticipantCongrats on the award, Greg! Speech was great.
And the pergola looks amazing! Tell your son an architect said it looks beautiful 😉 . Just what that otherwise awkward island in the parking lot needed.

Zach BauerParticipantEventually I’ll post something over on the BFNJ17 thread, cause he’s gonna do a similar display at that one and I talked to him about possibly joining in and I’ve done a couple test builds at my house despite being focused on other stuff for the time being. I don’t know if it’ll convince at any space builders in our group to come to that one, but I’ll put something about it there anyway.
Yes I can confirm that Will is great to talk with. Ben, keep me posted on BFNJ2017. It was a great show last year and I’d love to go again with anyone from the burgh. And if you decide to go and need a place to stay, you’ve got free lodging in NYC.

Zach BauerParticipantOk I give up lol

Zach BauerParticipantOver in the trolley thread, Ben posted a town image by “smart as a brick” in the NY/CT area. Another display that he posted is this UV moonbase layout.
The Main Author’s name is Will Smart. He’s a member of the NY LUG. His stuff is very impressive to even someone like me who couldn’t care less about space scenes.
Here are some images from our most recent miniature display.

Zach BauerParticipantNo clue but if you’d like to cut your shipping costs in half, I’d take you up on that 🙂

Zach BauerParticipantSome of us have been angling for that invitation for five years…
It’s worth the wait.

Zach BauerParticipantHe now is the coolest 5 year old I know. Kid knows how to party.

Zach BauerParticipantSupposedly, the guy sold about 100 cars this way and finally got caught. I looked up the bluebook value the value of the car with the extra mileage and the difference was several thousand dollars less.
The odometer only had 5 digits, so the odometer started over at zero once it reached a hundred thousand miles. We got the car just before it reached 30,000 (the 2nd time) and it was still less than three years old, so the dealership repaired the radiator “under warranty.”
In a follow-up letter the Justice Department told us that the seller had been convicted, he had been sent to jail and was sentenced to pay into a fund from which we would be repaid. That was about 20 years ago and of course we’ve never received anything in compensation.
That’s an incredible story. I’ve never heard of a 5 digit ODO.
I do like the use of no MILS. The whole display looks very playful. The bouncy castle is then just the icing on the cake in that room.

Zach BauerParticipantMy wife and I bought a car from a private seller when we lived near DC and we found out several years later from the US Justice Department that the car had 100,000 more miles than were listed on the title. We should have paid more attention when we had it inspected and the mechanic said “its been run hard.”
The Justice Department told you after a couple years after purchase that the odometer had been tampered with? How does that work? They caught the guy and it took that long to contact you? I know I’m jacking this jacked thread but I am curious now.
April 5, 2016 at 8:40 pm #15822
Zach BauerParticipantSounds bueno! I can just pick them up from you whenever. You don’t have to make an extra trip.
April 5, 2016 at 7:37 pm #15820
Zach BauerParticipantI’ll take 1 or 2 to tinker with! I still have a couple I mess around with that I programmed in college with arduino boards.
December 6, 2015 at 11:51 am #14385
Zach BauerParticipant@solscud007 I need you to bring Ben’s trees to Q4 provided that you are coming? Please and thank you and let me know if you can’t.
December 6, 2015 at 11:07 am #14384
Zach BauerParticipantOh no! I visit this store once a month. Hopefully it is open over new years weekend (although that wouldn’t make much sense) So sad 🙁 I can only imagine they are sick of paying that rent regardless of the foot traffic they get in there.
And I never even got to ride the ferris wheel.
December 3, 2014 at 7:33 pm #9368
Zach BauerParticipantWelcome Sam. This train collection sounds insanely awesome!
