The Q1 meeting is maybe a month away. I propose a competition using LEGO Studio. There could be additional parameters ex. limit of size or part number.

Also, I could provide participants with the LUG logo file for LEGO Studio. The file could be altered by individuals to fit a theme of the builder’s choice. I’ve done a few versions but I think there are lots of possibilities with virtual parts.

Of course, the challenge could start with a different seed file, so that participants have a starting point. Thoughts?

pick an idea and let’s go with it! Sounds like stud.io is a great medium for the challenge this time around.

What do you want the challenge to be? Seed part? Number of parts oriented? Themed, like using the logo?

if people don’t like this idea, I propose making medieval scenes on a 16×16 MILS plate to be display collaboratively at the Home and Garden Show

… it might be funny to feature medieval people doing Home & Garden activities to which the attendees could relate

Are we presenting our digital build during the meeting or emailing it to someone?

Dale, Josh said in an email to post your entry in this thread and so far your question is the best entry. If you win, you can choose from a random set that Josh brought to the meeting, a cup of parts at LUG HQ or a half cup of parts.

Fun fact: Each of the 4 animals on the top represent something. The Rabbit, was the Chinese animal of the year when Ninjago came out. The Horse, the current Chinese New Year animal. The Dragon, the most popular animal of Ninjago. Almost every character has at least 1 dragon to represent them. The Snake, the original villian of Ninjago. The snake is what awoke the evil in Lord Garmadon and in Lloyd as a kid. The one tile on the bottom right actually says in Chinese, “The Dojo of Master Wu”.

As promised, here is the studio file for the cut-out LUG brick. I tried to keep the layers separate to make it easier to color/distinguish the layers, but there are a lot of penetrations from front layer all the way through. Can’t wait to see what you guys make with it!
