That looks really nice! Looking forward to seeing it completed.
Welcome Steve!
Welcome, Anne. I really like the muli-colored roofs on your original castle. It gives a nice pop of color amid the gray. The design of the castle is also very nice so I’m looking forward to seeing “version 2”. 🙂
That is wonderful @twrt0es! I am so happy for you (and also happy that we will be able to get our hands on this set)!
February 4, 2026 at 4:51 pm in reply to: Goods News: I’m Moving to Pittsburgh! Now I Need Advice/Help #68208Thinking somewhere in the range of 30-45 minutes
If you are looking at the suburbs (meaning not the downtown area or bordering neighborhoods), keep in mind that north is the only direction which does not have a tunnel. When we moved to Pittsburgh in 2012, my wife worked in the Strip District and from Cranberry was a 40ish minute commute (early in the morning and leaving the office by 3:00ish to avoid rush hour traffic). Not saying that you want to live all the way up here in Cranberry but it is good to keep in mind actual drive times. I know I can make it downtown in non-rush hour traffic in about 30 minutes (for example, that is about how long it took me to get to the Science Center for Locomotion weekend). In addition to I-279, Route 8, and Route 28 are additional arteries from the northside area (although 28 is often a mess from what I gather).Glad you’ll be here soon and congratulations to your fiancé for getting into Duquesne!
It needs the Classic Space swoosh. But also, awesome!
It’s always interesting to look at the year end report. Thank you for posting this, Josh. I like the Personality Awards. 😀
FYI, Tom also gets another mention on TBB (and a link back to the original post) in the one Holiday Calendar day: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2025/12/15/2025-lego-advent-calendar-spoilers-day-15-feature/
@randomdan that is AMAZING and WONDERFUL news! Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery and hope to see you soon (once you are able to be out in public).
We can make it two videos from the LUG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUgsYelZ7Fg
Started work on a Nuclear Waste Storage Facility on MILS plates as another one of my digital backdrops.
Nicely done. Very industrial. Watch out for those radioactive spiders!just wait until you meet Tim from Cranberry and Tim from Cranberry!
Tim from Cranberry checking in to say “hi” to Alan! Welcome to the group. 😀Very well done! I love the “construction” aspect. It’s like the Fabuland characters are building their own “Miniland”.
Welcome, Rachel. I found that with my kids (all boys, late teens and early 20s) my oldest still likes to build sets and my middle one likes events and conventions, but the youngest is fairly blah on Lego. Maybe he’ll come around someday. 😀
how am I just now realizing there were 2 fort legorado sets?
The original was released in 1996 and then was re-released in 2002 as a Legends set.Back in the early 1990’s, ALDI used to carry these cookies and they were the best. Huge chunks of chocolate chips. Glad to see Matt’s is still in business. 😀
Hello, Dan, and welcome. You just missed our Second Quarter LUG meeting but that is OK. There are many events coming up over the next several months so if any are of interest, we would love to see you sometime. There is also fairly constant activity in our Discord. 🙂
May 14, 2025 at 4:56 pm in reply to: Pittsburgh Downtown build, how to/parts needed? Integrating with a train layout? #64371If you are looking to build full size buildings, I have some experience in that. You can look at the 2025 Home and Garden pictures in our Gallery for pictures of my downtown buildings. I am currently working on several more and hope to have at least one more new one done in time for November’s Ultimate Brick Show. My latest is the Keenan Building (currently named Midtown Towers) located at 643 Liberty Avenue. It is the building with the red dome.
No worries. I can still bring QQS (assuming I have time to renovate it properly to scale – i.e. Modular size).
I have a Quality Quidditch Supplies (based on the one at Universal Orlando) which I need to revamp and “up size”. It should fit nicely alongside WWW.
My wife works with nephrologists across the country and we have some great ones here in Pittsburgh. Praying for a quick and successful match for you, Dan.
Welcome MJ. Glad you joined.
Welcome, John. That store location should be good. Lots of traffic in that area, especially being so close to the Turnpike exit.
What kind of person would put their name on a vanity plate, anyway?
Yeah, that John Sauder guy is a real egomaniac. 😀(I know that’s the plate holder; I just couldn’t resist making a bad joke.)
3 and a half years silent, then BAM. Josh pulls it back to the top. 😀
